I have noticed lately that a lot of people make the comment that marijuana is a weed. I have always considered it to be a herb which is a lot different from a weed.

Whats your thoughts on this?

That is an interesting question. Usually when I think of herb, I think of cooking spices like rosemary and thyme, which I suppose you could use cannabis for but usually when you add cannabis it's not for the flavor.

On the other hand, It is really resilient like a dandelion But unlike dandelions, cannabis actually has uses.

so...i'm not sure.

Weed and herd are slang. marijuana is neither - it's officially classified already. Botanists know their stuff...

I use the word weed as slang but I wouldn't call a marijuana plant a weed because that simply means it's an undesirable plant. I desire marijuana as do many others.

Thats exactly the way I think of it but I have just seen alot of people recently stating that it is a weed and not in the slang term either, they actually think it is a weed.

I know what you mean. When I read the grow threads there are people that say, it's a weed and it will grow no matter what you do to it. It is a resilient plant but from that perspective some of the strains are far too finicky to be considered weeds. You can kill it with something far less harmful than weed killer

cannabis sounds kinda weird too though lol. I always just say weed, pot, sometimes bud and ganja on rare occasions

I think it's more closely related to most weeds than most herbs, but I call it herb. it sounds more respectful.
