I do think that being able to die for your country at age 18 but not being able to legally drink until 21 is stupid. If we're going to hand you a gun and send you to your death, you deserve a beer first.........

my wife feels strongly about this issue she feels if they have military id they should be served at 18...

here'd be my suggestion - try and pass a bill where those signed up for military under 21 can have a "conditional drinking license" where the can only drink on leave, and have to have 24 hour period of sobriety before any military function?

needless to say im sure we've all seen some smart 18 year olds turn DUMB as pie after a few brewski's/shots.

Honestly guys, I don't think we're the people who need to be out there marching in the streets protesting for it to be legalized. I watch footage of pro-pot parades and have to just shake my head. Any kind of protesting ends up looking pretty stupid with the garish signs and the fact that half the people are just there to be able to say they were but the pro-pot stuff... good god. This ain't the summer of love so take off that silly ass hat. Nothing is ever going to get done walking around stoned and loud. I wish it could and think it should but thats just not how it works. They don't care about us and when we get in their face about it they're just going to care even less. The only hope we really have is from the inside and they don't appoint people like us to office. You almost can't be a stoner to help a stoner. I think the only way it'll happen is if we can prove not only that nobody cares about it anymore, thats pretty much done, but that it will make more money and employ more people than the current system. We've been telling them for 30 some years that we want things to be different and it hasn't gotten us shit. We've been fighting it in courts for over 30 years and it's BARELY gotten us shit. Where would everyone the DEA employ go if we shut it down? They don't know anything else, it'd be like a lifetime of training on obsolete machinery. Just my two cents. I don't think people should or will stop protesting because it's great to live in a place that will let us and it's a constant reminder that there alot of people who'd like it another way I just think it does more damage to the cause. Not to bash because I laughed out loud and thought "thats awesome." when I read about arranging clones to spell out "legalize it" at DEA headquarters but that would piss off alot of people. No one likes a scene on their front lawn.

they should just make everyones drinking age 18...

i got pinched at a party drinking when i was 20... they made me pay fines, do community service, and go to (and pay $300 for) a class in a building labeled "DUI Rehab"...

i cant say i agree with the general populous drinking at 18...

18 year olds are just that much more impressionable than 21 year olds. (not to say 21 year olds arent)

but i feel that they'd be more likely to buy their highschool mates booze.
