Last week I started smoking again after a long dry spell (ran out, too lazy to buy more). I took a small amount (think fingernail size), lightly dropped it into the bowl, and lit up.

I hold the lighter over the weed and suck gently but deliberately, with my finger over the carb.

I keep about half of it cherry red while pulling and when I feel I'm 3/4 the way full I remove the flame, take finger off choke and clear the pipe.

Timing this all so by the time the pipe is cleared there is NO visible embers in the bowl.

This method had the small amount of bud there burn very quick.

But tonight, I took a full nug and squashed it's ass in there. It was harder to pull, and I had to use less fire but there was VERY dense smoke in the pipe while I was pulling. Two hits like this and I'm all done. It used very little herb compared to original method.

Any other ways I was improve upon my bong-hits? How's my technique?

PS, This thread took me about 15 minutes to write. That's how baked I'm am right now.

I pack my bowls full and roll my joints fat. Why not? I have plenty of stash and no need to be stingy.

Should I push it and pack it down there hard? Or is it more effective to put a lot in there but keep it slightly 'airy'?

I put a good amount of pressure on it. But not so much to where I can't draw smoke.

I take my bong and fill the bowl half way by dropping ground weed in, no packing it down or anything. Then just torch it all and clear the bowl in one hit. Three of these and im baked.

For me my gravity bong gets me quite ripped. I keep my g-bong clean though it's not a nasty brown color yah know? I use one of those big water jugs (not like in an office but with a handle on the top? haha) for the chamber that you pull up. The cap has a bong slide though it that makes an airtight seal. I use a big bucket to hold the water which I change once every couple of days. With some of my finely ground homegrown I get ripped to say the least haha
