The hotel's will tell you not to stray away from the resorts for a reason. Due to the fact their are very nasty people there.
The gangs there make L.A. look like Club Med.
If you want drugs and hookers, then that's the place to be.

I went last year on a cruise ship and it was cool. Our cab driver got us stoned all day while he showed us the sites. The weed is very good and the beaches are awesome. I am planning to go back after christmas. It is a poor country so you need to be careful but tourism is a important part of their economy. The people are friendly. You will be fine as long as you use common sense. It is no worse than mexico. Ocho Rio, Neigral and Montego Bay are the best places to stay. Kingston is the town you want to stay away from because they have a gang problem there. jamaica can suck but thats usually for the lame people who don't understand tings here. for the laid back truly cool people of the world its a paradise.

Negril is in Westmoreland Parish which is known island wide as the best pot producing region. I smoke some of the best nugs in the country which I purchase from a grower in Orange Hill. I get about half a pound for $50US but thats the bro deal. Tourists are required to pay more because tourism is all this place has. You can score a nice ounce for about $20US in Negril. The same sack would cost more in tourist traps like Montego Bay and Ocho Rios but $1000 Jamaican dollars or about $15US should get you a nice bag anywhere on the island.

It is a poor nation and if you come off as an asshole they will sell you a bag of dirtweed and then call their brother the cop and have you arrested for possesion. The cop will ask you to pay cash to stay out of jail and he'll split it with his family.

If you're not an ass then life is sweet here.

What resort is the most ganja friendly in the Negril area? I was thinking about Lost Beach.

Experiences will vary. Don't do the big resort thing: you'll hate it.

However, you might love what I did. I went to Negril (stay away from Montego Bay and all that shit) and got myself a room at a little place on the cliffs (stay away from the beach if you don't want hassles and cops). There was a lot of so-so weed, but I quickly met the right people and got hooked up with some nice bud. For 1000 Jamaican dollars (say, 16 US bucks or so), I'd get about 2-3 ounces of this really nice bud. I smoked like a fucking fiend, and went skin-diving all day. It was awesome.

DO NOT DO RESORTS!!! They defeat the whole purpose of Jamaica. Besides, all the horror stories about maids calling the cops on you happen there.

I stayed at Heart Beat Jamaica which is on the low part of the cliffs, not that far from the beach. Friendly staff - even the gardener sells weed, but it's pretty harsh stuff, but he'll give you a lot for your buck if you're looking for quantity. The owner is a Canadian woman who'll gladly point you in the right direction if you're looking for weed. If you want nice bud, though, there is a bar next door called "On the Rocks". There is an old rasta who works there - hell, pretty much lives there. Ask him to introduce you to "Sy", and thank me later.

My best contact there unfortunately left Jamaica.

This is the place i was thinking about. It is recommended by Cannabis Culture Lost Beach Resort, Jamaica - A Tropical Island Paradise and Ganja tourist. I am undecied between this place or some place at the cliffs. I definatly want a room with air conditioning though. What place is the nicest at the cliffs?
