It's just a culture shock, I suppose. Everything is way more expensive. Except for the weed. The weed is the only thing I liked. The gas is 60 cents more a gallon. IDK where your at but the houses in Cali are double the prices of where I'm at. The people aren't as friendly...IDK the people are just a lot different there. I didn't make any friends when I lived there. If I would of been more social and made friends I'd probably like it a lot more. But, like I said the people are just different out there and I never did.

I am really thinking about moving to Cali. However, I have no idea where to move to... I need some advice about where the nice, safe places to live are...
Also, How much do you all pay for rent? How hard is it to get a job like construction/laborer gigs? I have searched craigslist and haven't found anything promising.
I have been living out in the south east my whole life... I Need change. Especially because of my inability to use Medical
marijuana... I have a girlfriend who is with me all the way, so I think we can afford it if we find jobs.
I have been thinking about Northern Cali... Like Eureka, or Sacramento... I am use to small town environment with plenty of outdoor recreation, and would like to find a school out there to further my education. Any advice would be helpful...
Rembember +rep for anyone with helpful Information
.
Sacramento is where I live, I was born and raised here for 24 years, it must be a good place to live because in the last 5 or so years a huge population from the bay has moved here.
The people here are mostly cool, its a fast moving city, but the people are more laid back than you'll see down south for the most part (counties like Santa Cruz and parts of S.F. excluded of course).
Rent over here is about 950-1100 for a two bedroom duplex in a decent neighborhood. 600-800 if you wanna sleep with tweakers. Oh yeah and their are ALOT of tweakers (Meth addicts) in sac.
For a one bedroom you can probably expect about 800-1000 depending on how nice and what neighborhood, how close to schools, shopping center etc.
I don't know about where you live but there is alot of people here but its all spread out.
I like it, there is always something going on but its not all congested like the major cities.
Good suburbs in sacramento are Fair Oaks, Orangevale, Some of Citrus Heights, Folsom. Also Roseville is nice but little more expensive and it borders sac in Placer county.
This place has good access to ganj, your 30 mins away from grass valley which is a somewhat lesser known cannabis hub, and not so far from mendocino, humboldt and trinity counties.
As far as jobs it depends what you do. I do sales, so despite the shitty market around the country I always have a job, but if you do labor it might be a little tricky.
What kind of work do you do?
If you'd like to know more, just ask

Yeah the Mt. Shasta area is pretty nice although it can get quite cold, Redding in particular is quite a lovely lil City.
But in my opinion the best kept Cali secret is the the Central Valley. A lot of hillbillies and oakies traveled there to find work during the depression (see: grapes of wrath).

Chico is a shitty place to live, this is why you probably moved back.
Little ditzy party chicks and fratt boys. I go there to visit but I would never live there kind of thing.

Why the fuck would anyone live there???? I pay 600 a month for a 3 bed 1 bath house. No duplex. And I make 1 dollar an hour more at the same job here. I couldn't even afford a cardboard box out there. Here I live nice. Sorry but It's dirty south for life for me.
