oh man I just freaked the FUCK OUT!

I've got this REALY old record player that I love to play all these old Floyd and Zep records on, and it broke the other night.

I gave it to a mate to fix for me and got it back today.

so anyway I like to have a chop and then go work out to my music once I'm to fucked to feel the pain of the weights.

so I'm in my chair lifting my dumbbell and all of a sudden the music is sounding SO FUCKING STRANGE!

THE SHIT WAS PLAYING BACKWARDS!!!!!

my dick head mate fucked something up in the wiring and reversed the current or something so the music was playing forwards for like 5 mins, then stoping and reversing!?!?! going backwards!

any one know exactly what could cause this?

not much of a story but fuck me it scared me shitless!

On a serious note..there is a lot of "backwards masking" in the Beatles records and other rock offerings where the tape was chopped and fed into the tape machine in reverse...so it would be cool to go back in and listen to some of those sounds and see what the guitar solos/vocal offerings may have sounded like in real time before they were manipulated.

what kind of turntable is it? direct drive or belt drive?
i had a fauly power supply in one of mine and it caused it to play backwards everynow and then.
But dont discount the rock gods, whom by the sounds you have been neglecting and not making time for them(you must listen to you vinyl everyday it is a gift and an honor)
lastly, smoke a bit more and see what they say.
