No way in my country could a loser like that get hold of so many guns and so much ammo. the only people that carry guns in my country are the police and gangsters.

Not criminals, you're everyday burglar does not have access to a gun. If he could afford one he wouldn't be out burgling. He'd be pulling blags.

IMO, it's these so-called 'normal' people that lose the plot and go on these rampages. At least if you come across an armed crook, you know that if you pay the fee you'll walk away alive. At least in my country... because if the crook has a gun he must be connected... which means the guy has a brain.

There will be more events like this in the future. The last time it happened in our country (by some fat, frustrated, speccy cunt) we banned all handguns, it wasn't too long afterwards that all guns were banned.

I've never owned a gun. The opportunity is there should I ever feel the need... but I seriously doubt it.

A bill that would have given college students and employees the right to carry handguns on campus died with nary a shot being fired in the General Assembly.

House Bill 1572 didn't get through the House Committee on Militia, Police and Public Safety. It died Monday in the subcommittee stage, the first of several hurdles bills must overcome before becoming laws.

The bill was proposed by Del. Todd Gilbert, R-Shenandoah County, on behalf of the Virginia Citizens Defense League. Gilbert was unavailable Monday and spokesman Gary Frink would not comment on the bill's defeat other than to say the issue was dead for this General Assembly session.

Virginia Tech spokesman Larry Hincker was happy to hear the bill was defeated. "I'm sure the university community is appreciative of the General Assembly's actions because this will help parents, students, faculty and visitors feel safe on our campus."

Del. Dave Nutter, R-Christiansburg, would not comment Monday because he was not part of the subcommittee that discussed the bill.

Most universities in Virginia require students and employees, other than police, to check their guns with police or campus security upon entering campus. The legislation was designed to prohibit public universities from making "rules or regulations limiting or abridging the ability of a student who possesses a valid concealed handgun permit ... from lawfully carrying a concealed handgun."

The legislation allowed for exceptions for participants in athletic events, storage of guns in residence halls and military training programs.

Last spring a Virginia Tech student was disciplined for bringing a handgun to class, despite having a concealed handgun permit. Some gun owners questioned the university's authority, while the Virginia Association of Chiefs of Police came out against the presence of guns on campus.

In June, Tech's governing board approved a violence prevention policy reiterating its ban on students or employees carrying guns and prohibiting visitors from bringing them into campus facilities.

Gun control is not the answer. the day someone comes for my guns is the day we'd be going to war. Yes i purchased one of them after the assault rifle ban. Our country had to take up arms to free itself from the British just so we'd have what few liberties we have. Not tryin to get all patriotic on everyone. But it's a basic lack of respect for human life few people are born with. He would have done whatever he could have guns or not. Sure it probably would have been a lot less devastating without handguns but Imagine life when the police have guns and you don't. Think iraq when Saddom was in power. The guy could have hurt a lot of people with explosives as well like they're doing in Iraq now.

He only had ONE 9mm pistol w/ extra clips and as far as your country and only cops and gangsters having guns.....FUCK THAT shit I mean cops ain't nothing but a big gang and are corrupt as the gangsters so I mean you really want to give another human being that much control over you then go ahead but I am gonna keep my pistol. A cop is human with human feelings and feels anger like everybody else.I've SEEN cops shoot people for no reason and beat the SHIT out of a 16 year old kid and don't say your guys police aint like that beacause I've seen how other country's police force operate and hell their worst than our police force.
