10.0% is the best since it has the most output.

(youll never reach sun levels but read the instructions with them there is a burn in time where the UV could be too much)

as for tubes we pretty much already went through the process of how to add them to your setup
x2 15" 10.0 UVB flouro each wired to a 26w cfl ballast(like in the tutorial link posted by me a page back)

I just read this article. It's about applying uvb to mushrooms to increase vitamin D content, in the same way that humans and most reptiles do. It's just that they only do it for 5 minutes!

OK, so here's my thinking. You know this arguable period of dark time at the end of the grow? What if the hps was switched to uvb for that period, still on 12/12? Or a combination of both/transitional stages etc. It all needs working out. Unfortunately I dont have the funds or space to do it right now.
What I am trying to say is that maybe if we treat our trichomes as those mushrooms, grow enough of them then work out the right timing to make them swell with the uvb, in much the same way as we do ith a scrog but on a minature scale, we could be onto the next stage.
Sorry, probably rambling now. Heck, even my popcorn is good!
I wonder if adding vitamin D to the res water would help?

I like your train of thought :) I too if I understand you correctly..Have pondered the same thing : For the 48hrs of darkness prior to 'the chop' use no light other than UV-B....In the final 48 hrs of darkness the plant is supposed to try n forfill its life and puts out a final coating of THC/Glands etc... But if for that time UV-B was applied either on a 12/12 cycle or maybe 24/24 (left on for 48 hrs) would this further increase both volume and quality of the THC.. ??

Its an interesting thought :) and I would of thought that no harm could be done by testing the theory out.. I mean 2 days when the lights are supposed to be off anyway..whats the worst that could happen!? :)

I think you/we're onto summink ya know! ..I wonder if anyone has tried this in practice ? ..I may have to tried it too..whats the worst that could happen!? :) - ZTELTHY :leaf:

Ps/ What did you think of that 12.0 UVB I found in the LINK above ? - ZTELTHY :leaf:

Not sure. Made it to the reptie shop today and they only have 10.0 in 2 ft, but they can get the 12.0s.
They wanted £24 for a 2 ft, 36w.

I think, I'd happily pay up-to £50.00 for a decent UV-B lamp.. I mean I've paid over £100.00 just for an imported 400W Digi-Lux Dual-Spec lamp..so £50 is not that bigger deal :) ...I just see it as an investment :)

I think if the 12.0's are gunna give better results..then undoubtedly the 12.0's would be the way to go..

I am still struggling to find room in my TV cab to fix the UV-B tube in place... I've come up with an idea but its a bit sketchy... I might fix the ballast section T8 etc..to the rear of the cab on the out-side (horizontal) ..then drill 2 holes for both the lamp connectors and then attach the UV-B tube on the inside of the cab..this would take up minimal space and providing the lamp doesn't get to warm it should be ok just sitting up flat against the Mylar coated back wall.. I would probably add a UV-B custom reflector too just to make sure the ray of UV-B is focused mainly in-line with the Bud-Canopy :)

I still need to take some measurements and take the fixture apart to see if this is possible, and how much effort it'd be!? etc.. lol.. - ZTELTHY :leaf:
