Zoic's Grow - Round 5 - GSC

Here we go, Round 5 has begun. I am running Girl Scout Cookies only this round. I plan to top and FIM more this time so they will likely be in veg for 12 weeks. I want to keep a mother if I can get at least one plant with good structure.

My wife bought a little tray system for growing alfalfa and I asked her if she thought it would be good for germinating seeds, she thought it would be. I am uber impressed and no paper towel required. What really surprised me was that 4 of the seeds popped in less than 24 hours. It will be 48 hours sometime this afternoon.

I can see where these trays could really be helpful to some of you folks that pop 20-30 seeds at a time. Aside from being quick and easy to use I feel the germination rate is much better, IMO.

Nice to see you getting another round on the go Zoic. Where are the GSC seeds from? Just wondering, so many versions out there. I see you tried the water cup germ method, it's about as simple as it gets and what I prefer, 24-36 hours in water and into a party cup/soil, done!

The seeds are the same bag seed for GSC that I used in Round 1. I bought a 1/2 a zip last year and netted about 30 seeds which I stored separately. Since the smoke was so good I decided to grow some. When I harvested, it was still just as good, but I only pulled about 10 grams from the 2 plants. Now I am going to really do it justice this time. :leaf:

You have come a long way mr z
My guess would be this time you harvest 10x as much.
Good luck
Thanks, you can take credit for some of the success. I may never have tried anything but 12/12 before I read your awesome 8 hr experiment thread. As well you and others have demonstrated the value of topping more than once. I think 10x as much is quite a stretch, so I will likely set my expectations a little closer to reality. If I can pull more than a zip per plant I will be quite happy.

No sir I will never try to take credit for anything on here.
We are all students in the same classroom of life my friend. All learning together at the same time.

It's usually far better to set your goals high to always keep pushing and improving.
Every crop you will keep improving and before you know it the goals go even higher.

Well I still consider myself a rookie, so I can only hope someone gains experience from reading my threads. I suppose at this point I can upgrade myself to novice, LOL. I have never really been goal oriented but more of a problems solver. I learn as I go and accept the outcome with an eye on doing better next time.

Same difference, really.

I've run it. It is finicky and doesn't yield well. It was a good strain, but nothing better than other strains I've grown.

No they were vegged under T12 fluorescent and flower under 38W LED. Both were 4 ft x 2 bulbs.

Round 5 already? You indoor guys have it made. Even with a fall/winter and a winter/spring crop I can only go three crops a year.
That's just one more reason why indoor spaces can be up to 100 times as productive as the equivalent space outdoors.

With a proper perpetual going, I've pulled over 6 crops a year.

With only 200 acres to work with, I am at a disadvantage. I smoke less than a half Z a month, and almost none of my friends and neighbors know I grow and smoke, so it's hard to give it away. Everyone who knows I grow, also grow, and we end up giving each other about the same amount, so no net gain or loss there. My biggest problem is storage. So this misbegotten year has been a blessing in disguise. I do wish I could have made all the crosses I wanted to. Maybe I will hit the fall/winter crop hard hoping for something breedable. Is wishing for small seedy plants wrong?
