Your thoughts on a light mover?

I am planning on setting up 2 4X4 trays with a light mover on a 8' track, i would like to load one tray with 9 to 12 plants and flower for about 30 days then load the other tray with 9 to 12 plants, so as to get a harvest about every 4 to 6 weeks, i am running a 600 watt light, does this sound like a problem? the only thing i am really concerned with is the amount of stretching that might occur.

I grow with 1kw lights on 6' rails. Each lamp is over its own 8x4 tray and there is definately some pros and cons to light movers. (4 of 'em)

I now use about 6-6.5' of the 8' length on each tray in flower in order to avoid too much linear movement by the light. My first couple batches were spread out over the table and everything at the ends was far less productive and did stretch more than its counterparts.

For my mums 1kw on an 8x4 tray and the mover is perfect

Now, in flower I like using my light movers in conjunction with a lamp that is the right size for the space (In fact I am getting 4-6x4 trays to replace 3-8x4 in flower so i can run my 4th light and make use of the 24 sq.ft. of flower space sitting fallow at the ends of my 8x4 trays).

The light mover is great at evening out the growth as well as casting the light at different angles from the tops to the very botoms of the plants. I should tell you that I run a SoG @ 4/plants per square and at that density the 1kw on a mover really helps with penetration-IMHO

I have decided that you should shoot for 33-40watts per square with a light mover and 50w/ft2 without. (i do 24 ft2 per 1kw=40w/ft2 and my biggest colas that I will harvest on the 5th are the size of beer bottles-the smallest are like those mini corona bottles and they are dense from top to bottom)

Ideally you need two 600s on one light rail with the add-a-lamp daisy chain thingy-so you can put two lamps on the same rail and motor. If you can only do one lamp then you need a 1kw on a rail and use the both trays. results will still be good dense nugs-and thats the idea....or so I have heard

FYI: If I had to use what you have then a single 4x4 tray and a 600 for my flower room is what I would do. I would flower 16 clones every 15 days and the tray would be full when it had 64 lollipop plants in flower. Keep the fans kicking and keep them SoG-pruned and you could pull-1/2lb to 1lb every 15 days. Environmental factors and skills making the biggest difference. Good Luck and check out the AlBFuct sticky threads at the top of the hydro section. Also, if I had it to do over again I would still purchase the light movers-yep 4 of'em (a friggin grand for rails and motors-yikes)
