I do a Flood and Drain in Rockwool blocks .
I flood for 15 minutes and then the pumps shuts off and tray drains. I do this three times a day during lights on .
I flood first thing in the morning as lights come on , again in the afternoon , and then one last time an hour before lights go off for the night .
Don't want to drown the roots . As the water drains , oxygen is drawn to the roots.

leaving the roots soaked for 1 hour in f&d is surely not the best idea, it would most likely drown the plant. You should drain the table as soon as it is full, and then repeat a few hours later depending on the environment and your plant's requirements.

What medium are you in? I agree that it is taken WAY too long to drain, your roots should not be submerged that long. I grow in 5 inch square pots in perlite, with a thin layer of rockwool at the bottom. I flood once per day for about 5 mins. I used to flood twice, but I see no difference in yield in flooding more than once. You should find a way to drain faster, how do your grows turn out?

Hello.Do you think it might be a problem if the second pot with hydrocorn has 5sm water(nutrition)?
