Rigged up #1 with some fuzzy cuffs and length of chain so they can't be undone by the wearer.
#2 is what silk rope is for when tied to the bed posts. The version in the pic they could easily wriggle the straps to get them close enough together to untie them. That defeats the whole purpose unless you get it behind the posts and frame right.
And the velcro straps can be pulled apart with a lot of effort. Cuffs and rope knots are where it's at.
I was actually discussing said shenanigans and uses with a younger coworker just a few hours ago for him and his ladyfriend.
It's also a nice subculture to get into if you decide to branch out into it.

Lol, I have never been tied up and you just listed off some good reasons not to. I've known people to get robbed by random hookups, but your story is better.. Thursday night in 89 you say. One hell of a memory you got there.. not the story cuz who could forget that, but a Thursday night.. lol
