Last grow i had 4x600 watt bat wing reflectors on a light rail 5.0 with 64 plant (sharks breath, blackjack, white widow, cannadential) in a 9x16 room, all in soil,lollypopped,3gal buckets, promix bx,with botanicare flower, calmag, blastoff, temps at 80 and got 7lbs 8.5oz..mostly sharksbreath and blackjack were in the room..now i have the same set up minus the lightrail,in a 12x10 room with 42 white widow and sharksbreath and cannadential,of which 5 plants vegd for a month, all others 2 weeks, and i expect the same yield.i was a little less than a half pound shy of 2lbs per 600 watt light, and that was with no co2 or fancy hydro setup, just dirt and hard work(kinda)...do your homework, keep the gadgetry to a minimum(i wasted $800 on a cap controller) pay attention and 2lbs per 600 watt light is EASY..ps..this was my first post on this sight, and after my new grow is zeroed in,im gonna start a journal so i can show ya the easy way..peace

if you ran a spliter to a 1,000 watt balast and ran two 600,s over the same space do you think it would be like having the light mover?

Can you actually do that lol nev er herd of that i think a 1000 watt ballest will produce 1000 Watts wondering if you split it and ran 600 watt bulbs would it now be two 500 watt i ran them light movers and to be honest your better off having 2 stationary lights then one moving across a 8 foot area like every 20 some mins

yeah they make spliters and you can plug two hoods into one ballast and run two 600s. i was wondering the same thing if its still just a 1,000

Depends on SO many factors, environment, strain, etc., but in a dialed in environment, growing mostly indica or indica dominant hybrids, growing 9 plants in 5 gal. containers under each light, I got to where I was averaging 4,000 gms. DRY weight under a 4 1000W light set-up, no CO2. Yes, I know, that's roughly 3.9 ozs. per plant, and 1 gm. dried weight per watt used in a grow cycle...but very doable. Just takes time, trial, error, and TLC for your THC!

16 plants is way to much. 9 max! u need at least 2-3 gal pots so you don't hinder the growth (root bound)

i grew 6-7 blue dream plants under each 1k light. i ended up yielding over 4oz a plant. each plant. If you only hit a pound a light now a days and u live out in cali that is considered average, i hit 1.4 a light my very first time,But i had been practicing for a while with smaller shit. The fact of the matter is you have to learn when and what to feed and WHEN to feed it. Trial and error.

I know people that grow 5 plants under each 1k and still hit over a pound a light. His theory with less plants is if you give the plant more room to grow it does a lot better.

I know this is an older thread but I have to chime in. I agree more plants packed close together is the way to go. I see all the time on here guys saying thats to many plants for that light,b4 they even ask " how long are you going to veg?" thats the main question. If you have a 4x4 area and you want to veg a plant for a month or so and do all kinds of stuff to it. Top,trim,scrog,lst,fim..etc and keep it healthy and alive for an extra month thats your headache man. Because that 4x4 area no matter how u grow will have a 4x4 canopy in the end and you will be giving that area the same amount of lumans per/ft/sq. so yeild will be about the same. In fact sog might yeild more, even though yield per plant might not be impressive the over all yield is usually better.

I look at it now as I got 3 gallons of soil and one plant. I can push this one plant to yield the most it can or I can devide the soil into 3 smaller conatainers and have 3 plants instead of one and aim for sumthing like a ounce. so i pull 3 ounces or 2 and a half per 3 gallon pot with ease
