yield difference between clones and seed

from experience has anybody noticed a difference in yield between placing a clone outside in April and placing a seed outside in April?

it seems to me that since the clone is fully mature and on the brink of flower it would flower before the seed and therefore yield less. Am I wrong? can you get monsters from clone?

the benefits with a clone are better than going from seed. you can top the plant shortly after putting it outside and just let it do its thing, it takes weeks to even see something pop threw he ground. Those same weeks would go towards for outdoor vegging rather than germinating.

I have some seeds and some clones that are about ready for harvest.
I dont see any diff. it depends more on how big they are when they go out.
I like to keep my best plants going by taking clones sometime mid flower, bout a month ago for me. I grow the mothers all winter and top like crazy so i have an assload of good cuttings come march. Every year I plant clones of my favorites from the previous year as well as new strains from seedstock.
It gives me a high quality variety in my garden

you top the plant when it's around 2 feet.. you take the very top tips and it makes the plant split and put out a second cola..

i have been following fdd's crop but didn't realize they were from clone... heres some pics 2 weeks into flower. they are being grown indoors with soil and general hydroponic nutes.

oh yeah one last question. do you guys gradually bring down the light cycle to replicate the same cycle as outside? or do you go directly from 18/6 to outside? Seems like this would induce flowering. I read a recent post by an aussie member that had this problem.

go from 18/6 straight to 12/12. Induces flowering since the plant is getting 12+ hours of uninterrupted darkness.

oops, didn't remember your going from indoor to outdoor. If your not careful your girl might start to reveg. But if you keep 12+ hours of darkness, maybe through a trash bag over it earlier than sunset to keep the flowering cycle going. Usually around this time of year climates are naturally 12+ hours of darkness so keep an eye on her.

Not much experience on Indoor to Outdoor grows. Just strictly outdoor here and everything works out fine. Just go with the flow of nature.

i dont think you read the entire thread. my goal is to grow a monster. i will veg clones indoors starting in about a month. I dont want to induce flowering when i put them outside into the long nights and short days of april. why question is should I replicate the suns photoperiod (about 14-10 to 16-8) before putting them outside or should i just put em outside. your advise is a method for early artificial flowering the exact opposite that i want.

I got a now. I would just put it outside. Not really worth the time and effort replicating the photo-period.

If you want to grow a monster start from seed. You can get clones that big but why. when you have plenty of time to start from seed. The clones i put out early this year went into bud even though they had over 12hrs of light. To the contrary the seedlings that were put out at the same time, didnt go into bud. Weird. Peace

I have better genetics from clone. I bet you do too since we are in the same area code.

you should check out the link i posted. The reason your clones went into flower when put outside was because you didnt replicate natures light cycle for that point in time. All clones intended for outdoor uses should be raised on a 15/9 or 14/10 light cycle.
