I seemed to notice that its almost impossible to order plants online of varieties that are popular in your state of residence or zone. like if your a Florida resident its nearly impossible to get an orange tree shipped to your house. not that i live in FLA but u get my point. however something that not meant to grow in your zone is easy to get.

ugh.

Most nurseries have them and if they dont can usually get them, Infact today a gentleman came in looking for a 5 in 1 apple tree, we didn't have any at our store but our other store across town did. Just ask around at different places, Small family own nurseries are best IMO, A little more expensive but service makes up for it 10 fold

funny you say that, i live in FL and just recived a catalog from Gurney's Seed and Nursery, and your right i cant order a dwarf lemon/lime/orange tree to here, but i can have a dwarf banana or pineapple tree delivered here. when i went into lowes they did have a banana tree for sale, so im guessing checking out a local or native nursery will be your best bet, and maybe the can even order one for you (depending on what your trying to grow)

Best root and scion wood you can get outside knowing someone is mail-order. Try on line. Then prepare to wait 5 years for your first real fruit after you plant the tree. And get cross varieties so they pollinate each other.

I live in Florida as well, and I can go to Lowes, Home Depot, or any nursery and buy any fruit tree I want that's been properly inspected & quarantined (if imported from outside the state). The issue with importing them is because of Florida having such a large percentage of the State's gross product being tied to citrus farms. They can't risk introducing a new virus or bacteria into the ecosystem. Most of the ones here in Florida have been eradicated from the citrus farms and introducing anything new would be devastating economically.
