WTF are XML 2's for Veg - see GrowMau5 video at

Anyone try these for Veg? They look like they seriously kick ass. See 9:20 into the video

xml-2 is cree 10 watt chip i think. I have heard there wicked at 4000k for low power veg and germ.

He is running 10 of these at 60 watts. Anyone know what driver to use?

I belive that's what the rapidled rooting g kit uses.

More par output than 2 x t5 I believe at 40 watts.

I think it will beat a strip LED. It looks really easy to make. Not sure if shipping to CA with duties will make it too expensive.

I'm in dire need of a vegging solution for only a plant or two. I have a little 18 inch t5 but it just isn't enough. I just can't bring myself to bust out a hundo on the rapid led kit. The depot has single COB work lights for $25 I think might work.

I have seen those/ WalMart and Lowes have them too. What is the light spectrum? Usually is good but that 4500 K seems to rock for GrowMau5.

I built a light using the 2 inch profile heatsinks from heatsinkusa and 16 XML2s in neutral white. It took maybe an hour and costs about $150.
It covers a 30" x 48" space. I used two of the drivers mentioned above. It also only draws about 65 watts. It's awesome so far.
I have 12 plants in one gallon pots under it now. I just transplanted them from Solo cups.
