A president for legal pot? In my life time, my head just exploded.

Quote from article:
A high-wattage trio of junior senators — Democrats Cory Booker and Kirsten Gillibrand plus GOP presidential contender Rand Paul — is mounting an ambitious effort to have the federal government bless the use of marijuana in the 24 jurisdictions (23 states and the District of Columbia) that have voted to legalize the drug for medical purposes. Their legislation would also allow banks to handle transactions involving marijuana and force the federal government to recognize that marijuana has a medical use, rather than lumping it in with heroin and LSD.

It's not 100% full legal MJ, however, baby steps I'll accept.

My guess is Paul will be the GOP nominee, unless Jeb Bush's family connections with deep-pocketed donors give him a large campaign advantage.

I can't stand Jeb Bush. As for Paul, I don't know enough about him to form an opinion on what kind of president he would make.

Both Elizabeth Warren and Rand Paul are very interesting to me right now. But I don't know much about either.

Warren is the only democratic nominee that I would like. But she's said she's not running.

There are a lot of ways I could criticize Rand Paul but from what I can tell the bill is a huge step in the right direction and I will give credit where due.

Rand Paul earned a morsel or two of my favor here.

I would not vote for Rand Paul. Although he's a bright and shiny turd, and sometimes you have to get up close to smell his turdiness.

He needs to get me a pony to get my vote.

Vermin Supreme...it's his time in 2016 !!!

he shares your view that businesses should be allowed to deny goods and service to people based solely on skin color though.

Yall might wanna check this out. Rend is not quite as against pot as some might think:

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2013/03/24/rand-paul-marijuana_n_2945307.html

Quote: "Look, the last two presidents could conceivably have been put in jail for their drug use, and I really think, you know, look what would have happened, it would have ruined their lives," Paul added. "They got lucky, but a lot of poor kids, particularly in the inner city, don't get lucky. They don't have good attorneys, and they go to jail for these things and I think it's a big mistake."

"The main thing I've said is not to legalize" - rend pawl
I realize that Paul has said that in the past. But he's at least willing to decriminalize, and has now spoken out in support of rescheduling MJ, and to allowing states to decide. That's commendable, although in and of itself does not make him the next deserving POTUS, I know.

It's a bit of progress from the right that is worth noting.

When somebody purportedly "owns" something and another entity "allows" them to do things with it , that implies the ownership is in question.

For instance, when you lick the states boots, they "allow" you to grow a few plants. So, who owns you boot licker?

One of the duties of a president is to represent our nation to the world at large. Paul is just too goofy looking to be our national figurehead.

Imagine that, a politician telling a segment of voters what they want to hear.
he says the same thing on this issue when he's talking to fox news or when he's condescending to minorities at historically black universities.

this is not progress from the right. the bill in question was brought forth by two democrats from the northeast. rend pawl is toadying up like the hypocrite he is. he is an unprincipled yellow spineless bitch boy.

thank the democrats, they are the ones who will get this through. not your neo-confederate racist hero.

do i even own a gun if i can't shoot up classrooms full of kindergarteners with it?
A more root striking question might be, why is their a "gun" involved in the coercive and ransom based funding scheme employed in the government school idiot factories Kaiser Wilhelm ?

When you flail around in the branches, you are liable to get hit by falling nuts. Strike the root causes.

I'll be glad to thank the democrats who are pushing this. They definitely deserve credit. And so does Obama. He has impressed me with his stance on MJ.

I singled out Paul because he's running for president (or will be, sometime next month).

Why would 2 democrats align themselves with Paul in the bill sponsorship if he was just along for the campaign publicity? Give the 2 democrats a bit more credit than that, Buck.

The truth is, Paul was in on it too. Just like they were. So he deserves credit too. In this particular instance.

Until you learn to be objective Buck, and not just hate everything right of center, you've advanced as far as you're going to my young friend.
