Would This Work as a Pump?

I am designing a hydroponic wick system that can be placed anywhere. Basically, it is something that can be set out in a remote place for example. I planned to use this as my "pump" in the setup. Big Bubbles Aerator for Livewells

My concern is that this will only hurt the plant by adding to much oxygen to the water. So, I figured that I ask to see what others think.

My setup is modeled after this one:
Wick

However, I am going to create a setup with materials that can be bought at such stores as Walmart and Home Depot.

no, it wont. that's an aerator for fishing trips.

go to walmart and get a ten dollar air pump. they are good for up to 30g. i wouldn't trust my grow to a battery operated air pump....

Hooking it to a car batter? No battery is going to be able to hold a charge long enough to be worth anything IMO

Understood, I will post pics of my setup and explain it when I am done. See how it works, just a cheap experiment anyways. Thanks for the help.

Solar powered pumps would be cool. Do they exist? I guess you could make one, but I have no idea what the efficiency of one would be like.
