Would appreciate some experienced advice RE: Nutrient Burns & Leacching

Hi My first posting:

Been obsessed with reading and studying for hours and hours each day about growing this perfect drug. So I finally realize the dream of 10 years. This was to stop buying overpriced Medicine and growing it for myself.

I have been lucky enough to get some seeds from from great smoke and have thus far germinated and began veg for three weeks under a combo of a good direct sun/Sunlight and CFL's. After topping the strongest of the four I soon buy a 400W MH system with some Nutes for Veg.

Product Purchased: Big Foot A & B Veg (this is a product that was suggested by the guy at the store who sold me my ballast, lamp and supplies - BTW he was well aware of growing techniques & has no problem telling me how to continue as I go)

Unfortunately, I F*()))D up and add too much Nute Solution & ended up scorching a portion of my plant. I only noticed this because of the one Fan leaf that was directly splashed on wilted to soggy drop within an hour under the new light. I could then see the Browns and Yellow burn on 3/8 or the plant if that.

My immediate action was to leech the nutrients out with too little water (I don't care enough to wait the 24hrs to get the chlorine out of water b/c of panic. SO direct tap water leech an hour past when I added the Nutrients and transplanted my best plant.

So I freak out & use a sterilized blade to cut the fan leave off that had the original feed off *knowing that I was loosing a great source for photosynthesis) because I felt that it was feeding the bad mix too quickly.

I am sorry if my writing is too much to read I just smoked one.

KISS

How long after a Nute Burn *serious* and then leeched would it take for the plant to stop showing the scorched leaves. And more importantly just how bad or long will this affect this plant. It was so healthy and Much of it still looks great except for a little burn.

I am glad I have learned all my mistakes with freebie pot seeds :P

Thanks for any feedback

You don't mention what your growth medium is. If you look at my posts I am an avid organic farmer, but this is my first foray into indoor grows. If you decide to go organic, it is much easier to avoid nute burns. If you are growing in soil, just keep giving deep drinks of water and introduce no new nutes until plant shows you it has recovered by springing back into action. Nice thing about soil is that it traps nutrients and makes plant reach for them that's the purpose of the roots. look to how nature does things for a model by which you can't go wrong.
