Worth a read - Joints vs Vapes, Bongs and all things nice...

Here we go...This post might be long but after countless conversations with friends and family I think I've come to a conclusion.

My crucial tip -
No matter how many people you are with smoke as if your alone. This means packing a bowl that YOU finish in one hit. In Australia the common way people look at it is this... If you don't pull your cone through your a bitch - Simple lol.

Bongs:
For someone that doesn't smoke a lot OR doesn't smoke a lot of bongs, Bongs are by far one most intense way to get high. I'd rate is number 3 (1 being the most baked possible )

Technique > Pack around 0.2 in a cone and light. Pull gently so the smoke gathers at the base of the bong and gets thicker and thicker, once the smoke has slowly made its way to your mouth pull harder and harder until the pot falls through into the water and through the cone. If there's any floating on top of the water then try again. What ever is floating is still green and has been wasted - this is avoided by "roasting" your herb for longer. 5-10 seconds should do it. bongsmilie

Vapes:
There is a common misconception on this forum that vape's are shity... If you believe this then I feel for you - honestly.
The grey area with vapes is the diffent models and the science behind them. I've currently got an arizer solo and an arizer extreme q and I must say I love my baby's. The vape pens that claim to be good for dry plant matter are a disappointment and it's a shame that so many people have been turned off vapeing becuase of these. Vapeorizers are the one of the few things in life that the more you spend the more you actually get and its worth it! Im not a huge fan of vape bags so these techniques are all using whips. To use a vape bag with optimal efficancy start at 220 and fill up the bag as many times as you can handle or until the vaped weed stops giving of vapour.

Techniques > Slow temp raise: This method is were one starts their vaping session at around 190.C Pack your vape before you turn your console on and let heat up before the first drag. (preferable use a high end vape such as the Arizer solo/ arizer eq/ Da-vinchi/ Da buddha or volcano)
Start at 190 and every 3 drags put the temp up 5-7 degrees until your at 230.C this is as high as you want to get Temperature wise) were not done yet with the other high :eyesmoke:
The other method really is the 'gun-ho' method. This is were you follow the previous instructions but start vaping at 220.C and don't change the temp at all.

Either way- You want to take LONG soft draws with personal vaporisers such as the arizer solo as they have a much higher resistance. With desktop vapes it's not as much of a big deal... just breath away and let the console work it's magic. Vapes I would rate number 1 from personal experience every single one of my mates claims that the highest they've ever been is at my place and thats one because it's were the vapes are at!

Another great thing about vaporizers is that they don't combust the plant matter this has two brilliant results the first being that it takes away the risk of any respiratory illnesses that could just maybe be caused by smoking. The second thing is no matter how much you vape your herb they never combust so store that vaped weed away and smoke it on a rainy day when your dry. The you'll just feel super chilled out and abit high. sort of like frequent flyer miles if you feel me... :bigjoint:

Pipes
Pipe's are in no means an efficiant/ healthy or even nice to smoke out of after vaping and smoking out of stickly glass only bong's you'll never go back to the pipe - F*ck that shit maing!

Joints/ Blunts
Joint and Blunts are a beautiful past time and should be enjoyed so don't take this the wrong way...
Joints aren't very conservative, think about all the smoke that comes out of the burning end of a spliff I mean that could be in you - and both you and I know thats were it's best. Thats why joint's get a rating of 3 because everyone likes a joint, Am I right? :joint:

A tip for joint's - try your best to roll them the european way. The best way to describe this is roll them just like a pre-roll comes with a skinny roach and a cone shaped spliff. All I used to smoke for about a year was spliff so over time you sorta get used to rolling them for the best enjoyment possible. Trail and error is the best from of education.

I wish I could rate extracts such as dabs etc but due to Australia's dryness, cost and absolute lack of motivation including my own their haven't been found yet.

Anywho hope this helps if anyone can be bothered to give it a read but most of all - Stay high. bongsmilie

I also love my Arizer Solo and Extreme Q. I use my Extreme Q MUCH more than my volcano. I love that you can SEE the meds, and whether they are "done" or not, also if they need stirring, or are they stirring themselves between the fan and gentle suction. I have only used the whip on my Q, since I have a Volcano for when I want to fill a bag and move around.

Thanks for all this information!
I'm thinking about buying a vaporizer but can't decide whether to get the arizer solo or the arizer extreme q.
I know and I've read about the differences between desktop vapes and portables. But since I've never smoked with a desktop vape and just used some cheap portable vape a few couple of times (and that being a long time ago - but damn it was fine...), I can't really tell how big the differnce is. Especially since they're both around the same price range.

Could you tell me in which ways these two vapes differ? Is there a big difference in smoking quality?
Having a portable one would be kind of nice. But if there's a significant difference in quality I probably wouldn't mind going with the extreme q either.

Thx!

Nice. I too thought vaping was shit as I tried peoples shitty cheap vapes until I tried a friends arizer solo. The only thing that put me off the solo was the glass tube as I was looking for something a bit more portable. I ended up going with the pinnacle pro dlx model, as its pocket sized and very portable. The only drawback is that you need the glass attachment piece for the smoothest vape, which diminishes its portability. But thats for at home. All in all Im very pleased with it and you deffinately get what you pay for with vapes.

PS. Avoid the fakes like the plague. My mate bought a fake pinnacle pro and it looked the part but operated like dog shit

resurfacing a last years post :P
I love my Arizer Extreme Q, so much that I went out and bought the carry bag for it and then went and bought an extra whip and another elbow so that I could rig it up to a perc bong. Being the elbows have an 18mm fitting they are a direct fit to 18mm glass bongs, so you take out the mouth piece of your whip and replace with an elbow, so now you have a whip with an elbow on each end and then your new whip with just a mouth piece so you can go without the bong without having to do conversions again. Crank that temp up to a good 220ish (depending on your version of Extreme Q) and let it preheat for a good 4-5 minutes and then sit back and vape.

Vapes have gotten me higher then I've ever been a few times; I worry about them not vaping the CBDs though as that's the kinda weed I like now. I just need a hotter vape like I used to have. I like a pipe though for taste, always have. I kinda want one of those heat rod "lighters" to try out. Bongs are unhealthy and the stone tends to me heavier for me, which I used to like. Joints are aight with the right paper. Zigs are nasty paper taste poopoo. I guess joints aren't terrible for you, 1:1 tar ratio(to thc? I forget)

You forgot bubblers. A good proper bubbler is pretty freaking awesome. Suck to clean but you get the taste of a proper pipe burn with a perfect water filtering effect that is actually healthier, unlike a bong. I don't know why. I also couldn't possibly find the same article I read with all those tar to THC ratios, been too long. Obviously vape is healthiest below eating. Not a huge concern with weed but I like to feel my best in life.

Totally agree with you on pipes, not for me either. I always burn my throat and get through smoke way too fast, not enjoyable at all for me. Maybe I should try a longer one though. I got myself a bong from here rather than what I went for originally (vape) and am glad I did. I tried my friends vape and the high was so weak... what do you guys think about vapes? they don't seem to suit me at all

I do love a good desktop bubbler!
