Thanks for the reply guys. I read around a little and a lot of people say to plant into the final pot at the start so I'm glad to hear I can upsize as the plants grow. I have another couple that just popped so I might try upcanning to see what works best in my setup. I'll chuck some pics up when my c99s have hit the rez and take off a bit. Enjoy the rest of your weekend!

Careful how you interpret the upsizing....you would NOT want to go to a 2 gal Hempy, and then transplant into a even larger Hempy...Any upsizing is best done BEFORE it goes into its permanant Hempy home....I start my cuttings (or seedlings) in 8oz styro cups and then upgrade the ones I will ultimately plant into a SOLO Hempy cup....That allows them to get a foot tall and a cpl prunnings...THEN after I harvest a crop, they are WAY READY to put into their permanent buckets...pic attached of 1 day of veg (current crop) and another of what they look like im a hempy solo cup....Those Solo cups (hempy style) will make some MASSIVE transplants for you...They set FAST and TAKE OFF.....But DO NOT upsize once they are in their permanent home...Its possible but disrupts that rapid veg u want to maintain..Y.T. Gotcha. I'll be keeping the first ones in their final pots now but I think I'll start any further seedlings in a mini hempy as you suggest and get it nice and established before the final move. Given the final pots are pretty small then one upsize should do the trick. It's pretty impressive how big you guys can get things in their tiny cups when coming at it from a soil background

its funny cause I was locked in a situation where i had to transplant 6 Gorilla Glue's seedings that where transplanted to 5 gallon hempys and had to get them into small 1.7gal air pots lol. All survived.

When I plant into my hempy pots I use the toe of a cut off sock filled with soil.It seems to give them the time to build good roots and find the res at the bottom.

Not much to post right now...plants just motoring along...I did put 10 potential candidates for my next crop into Hempy solo cups...all were well rooted in initial 8oz styro coffee cup and choose a group to start prepping for next crop...I will replant in about 4 weeks...These will all be HEAVILY rooted and prunned to great off to a great start....I dont do mother plants...Cant find a need for it...When I put a crop into flower, I take cuttings (off them) for the next one...There is NO PROBLEM with them getting too big..I withhold nutes a little and just prune them back if they do get too tall....This actually allows me a better chance to get a good plant profile, AND they will have MASSIVE roots by then too...One of the reasons I usually only have to veg 3 weeks...these will have the final prunning about a week after transplant into main garden to achieve that even canopy....Last crop went 23 days if veg...Typically, its always right around that 3 week mark of vegging to get the size I like before timer flip....Love my space filled without over crowding it....If anything, I rather be a little busy cause I defoliate (selectively) to keep good light coming in, plus have a light mover....I hate wasted space...a quirk of mine....LOL...Cpl hempy solo pics...YT?..bored so doing an edit....the 10 hempy solo cups include White Widow extrm, Cheese Candy, Incredible Bulk, Bubble Bomb and THC Bomb..the Bomb genetics are whats flowering now (from seed) so still not sure which will be the Chosen one to continue (if any!) 20171003_232436.jpg IMG-310dc7e9-42e4-471b-8bc4-c1b24877f8ef.png

20171007_232945-1.jpg 20171007_232740-1.jpg Cpl sneak peek pics of what these Bomb Seed genetics are doing for me...2 closeups...one of the Bubble Bomb (cross of THC Bomb and Bubblegum), and the other pic is a nug on my taller Sativa dom THC Bomb...the Bubble Bomb will NOT go any longer than 8 weeks, if she even goes that far...all the THC Bombs appear as they may go a full 9 weeks....these are at 5 weeks and 4 days in flower....the Bubble Bomb is finally getting a mild Bazooka bubble gum smell (signature of that cross)....that is suppose to really come out at maturity...YUMMY!!!...every review I've read of her, has ppl keeping it in their mix...many said they preferred it over the THC Bomb!!!...I am looking forward to grading both in a few weeks....Both are known for packing on the resins the last cpl week...From where they are now, they should be completely encapsulated when they are done..Y.T....edit...I noticed the Photo Drawer app kills some of the clarity of pics you add text too, so I posted 2 originals of same buds...still phone pics but are not too bad..YT

What are you, the Hempy Police...this ISN'T and photography contest....I do get how inexperienced growers lash out of frustration sometimes....Dont care what you think!!!...Maybe you need to spend more time learning how to grow, than surfing forums, looking for places to vent your inability frustrations....ADULTS here share what they got and appreciate others doing it....You belong over at the ICMAG forum...you'll fit in good there...

wow talk about "Kettle Meet Pot" moment. This is how it is now though. He hardly said much of anything at all to be so preachy while doing the very thing your accusing him of. I dont know you, your prob a cool guy, im just saying give a bro some more rope to make fools of themselves (god knows there are alot in these places) Mostly tho its not worth it. plus text can be taken 10 different ways. It's not nearly as accurate with meaning and comprehension as voice or face to face. lastly smoke a bowl and chill.

p.s. oh and i hate pics with hps too(even tho at the time I was so proud) these days im running cobs and QB and I really appreciate seeing the true colors.but I wouldnt waste my time whining about it either. Not say anyone was.

Sorry ppl, I was raised old school....if you dont have something nice to say, keep quiet....to blurt out to someone you DONT KNOW, telling them how THEY WANT THINGS TO BE, is uncalled for and nothing short of selfish....I am not here to please picky ppl...I am here to share 38 yrs of knowledge and maybe, just maybe, someone that is starting out can gain valuable insight....If someone doesnt like HPS lights on in a pic, BOO HOO, I DONT CARE....Its what I had to share at the time....I guess I just found out there are people here too, selfishly policing what is posted, even though it was posted with HONEST INTENT, and was crapped on for NO LEGITIMATE REASON....To publicly show their DISGUST because its not how they would do it, just shows immaturity and disrespect....No problem, I wont bother with any more posts....apparently they are more annoying to ppl than useful...as soon as a great outlet for sharing knowledge turns into drama, I bail...Not being whiney, just have ZERO TOLERANCE for any drama...Happy growing..Y.T.

I believe he needs some anger management classes.
If he felt I crapped on his honest intent post For No Legitimate Reason, I apologised for just requesting something so simple as post a pic without HID lights. And I noticed he did not except my apology, so I will withdraw my apology.
I do not like being called out without reason, if I had challenged him in some way I would understand.
I am 70 yrs old, been smoking pot since I was 15 and been growing off and on for about half that time, growing full time now since 2010. I grow now for my on medicine, make Cannabis Oil and some smoke.
The only reason I check back in at WOH is I did 4 yrs of hempy before going with straight coco DTW Vertical growing. I liked working on the manifold (mainlining) grows and looking at what people are doing there.
I am not and do not troll.

27th day since flip to 12. This is my 2nd Hempy run exactly the same way but mine have Hydroton on the bottom res with a airstone and bottom fed. I have obviously had success, i am about to rethink hempy and use perlite at the bottom then Hydroton. Will still use coco/perlite mix above.
