I plan to move to Cali with my fam. I am looking into the central valley and points north of Sacramento.

I am disabled and meet all the req for a med card. But I have some questions.

1. I have been a pastry chef for 17 years I belive in and see the ben. of MMJ and know how to use it to make foods with it baked goods candies dressings icings and alot of other things as well. Is there a job market for someone with these skills? Even if it were part time or the if I would have the ablity to sell off any extra I made for personal use?

2. Were in the north and central valley areas would suggest looking for a nice safe place to live? Towns zip codes whatever.

In Cali, if you are skilled in baking, definately a ton of people are looking for some potent, high quality, supreme tasting edibles. Also If you are interestng in growing outdoor I would go to brentwood. They will never run out of water ever and they want people to farm out there. Housing developers are trying to take over and buy up all the farm land so farmers are seling land cheap to people willing to farm. Idk if this is an interest to you or even relevant but I thought i would just throw it out there. Also, looking on craigslist and local clubs to see if they need someone with your expertise.

I was pretty sure there would be. There is like 700 despenceries in L.A. alone or soemthing like that. And I will check into the Brentwood area. ATM I was looking at Weed, orangevalle, Yuba city, Clearlake,Modesto and paradise. Any info on these areas? Found 2 really nice homes in Weed and one in Modesto so far.

You either have to know a bunch of growers or be able to grow your ingredients yourself. If you can do that, and make good consistent edibles, you should be able to find work doing that.

Emerald triangle is a nice safe place to do your thing, but you're going to face difficult competition for your services up there. Central valley isn't the friendliest place for 215, nor is it a great growing climate since you get high temps over the summer.

Considered San Luis Obispo area? I know it's not where you were looking, but it might be worth thinking about.

I've driven through Weed before. Its an old logging town. It looked nice as passing by, but it didn't seem close to anything. But thats probably not a problem.

Edibles that are good are almost always accepted by dispensaries. As long as they are actually edible and potent, thats the only qualifiers.
The central valley does have hot summers, but its in the middle of everything, mountains, desert, beach, etc. All about equal distance from the central valley.

It's my opinion Modesto isn't a great place, but thats just from perspective, I haven't really been/lived there.

When I thought about relocating within California I was looking at the same areas you were looking at. They look very appealing online...
