Wilting !

I understand I am new, and this is my first post. I did not come here to be talked down by others. I simply came here to learn more about growing properly. My plant is about 7 weeks now, I consider this a test run. It is my very first plant, I recently planted my second. My baby has looked very very healthy, but lately at night just about an hour or so before I turn the lights off its been starting to wilt and droop.. Thought it could be drainage issue, made more holes at the bottom of the pot. I also thought maybe underwater is occurring due to heat increase, drying out the soil quicker, as well as leaves drying a little bit. I am posting pictures below, I am pretty sure I'm not overwattering. Could someone give me some pointers to get em healthy? Some there are two leave that have a bit of drying/crumpled deformed leaves from attempting to pinch for a FIM. Didn't properly work, which is what lead me to cut for the top. Another thing I forgot to add, I topped the plant about 6 days ago and thats when it's been wilting its most. Possibly needing more water? Not sure that is why I am here.

Hope to hear from someone soon lets toke up in the meantime !

EDIT: I am only watering using tap water.

Tap water has a lot of minerals and salt built up that your plants don't like. Also cannabis is a acidic loving plant so most water will be in the neutral range and bringing down the PH to say 6.3 will help a bit. Also average PPM for tap water is anywhere from 150-400PPM. There is a product called FloraMicro Hardwater by General Hydroponics that will lower your PH to a desired range, it may lower it so much that you'll need to add Cal/Mag but this is easily done with a epsom salt infused water feed.

But over-watering seems to be the issue here just by looking. If you are watering more than every 7 days days I would stop. Also what size pot is that there and why is there not a lot of soil? That taproot likes to grow deep.

Thanks for the reply Trippy. There's a little less soil now due to pot tipping over.. I have to fill her up a bit if that won't hurt it. And okay, overwatering could make sense. I was watering it every like 2 days because the soil at top would dry out. So you're saying wait about 5 days now, then water? Also, would it harm the plant by changing the water I water with now?

Ahh i see, very common mistake but now you know. Also filling her up with soil will help a lot, in fact the very first two leaves you see on your plant you can bury that part up with soil and the stem that is under the soil will start developing roots which we all know lead to bigger fruits.

Also if you feel like your soils is drying out fast using a natural mulch like leaves or straw (not hay, hay has seeds) will keep it from drying out so quickly. Usually a little mist on the top soil before your lights come on won't hurt a bit but in your case I would give her more soil and refrain from watering.

Hey man, 1 observation to make is plants get used to the cycle and will both droop in anticipation and perk up in anticipation of the light/dark cycle. Going into the room when lights are out can be a little tricky, so might want to think about that. Drooping can be too much or too little water as well. As your plant gets closer to the time to transplant it will want more water, more frequently as the roots fill out the pot. Just looking at your soil level and the size of the plant, I would say it's time to up pot. Easy to overthink any new issue that comes up.

Thanks again Trippy. I appreciate your help. I'll be keeping a close eye on her !
I filled the soil up a bit more. @calicocalyx thanks for your reply too! I was thinking a bigger pot may be needed but I am not sure.. I thought I could grow a decent baby out of this one? I'll be keeping a close eye on it, that is very possible. Again, thanks for the replies.

You'll get new growth of roots towards the top and that will help for a bit. But it's your lower roots that have filled up the pot and now there isn't much there to hold the moisture which is probably why it's dropping by the end of the day. Do you water in the morning, lights on?

Honestly if you anticipated on transplanting I would do it now before establishing new roots by filling up your existing pot. what size pot is it though? 3-5Gal will work if that's what you got now.

When you knocked the pot over you disturbed the root sytem like a transplant gone wrong, shocking the crap out of it.
Stop feeding , only water if the pot becomes light to lift and pray it can come back.

Before you get too confused. The dirt fell out of the top of the pot because the roots weren't growing there because it's too dry in that top layer. Transplant like trippyhippy said into a 3 gallon or 5 even depending on how much longer you are going to veg and how many more times you want to transplant. Or experiment and add the experience to your ever growing bank of wisdom. Takes time to get a feel for it. It's stressed because it's rootbound and probably hungry. 7 weeks in what looks like a half gallon of dirt.

I agree with calico. Also when the bottom leaves start to yellow and die that could be because it is rootbound.

do a search on this issue. this is what happened, it's very common. adding soil, and feeding is not ur answer. anyone suggesting this should be ignored. i don't usually say things like this about other growers, but your drooping issue before lights out is "very," common, and those that aren't aware of this should be ignored...

Firstly no one disagreed with what you're saying and secondly my comment about adding soil had nothing to do with his question but was a suggestion because theirs no point in having a pot half full. Get off your high horse bro.
