Will this grow?

Just wondering if this will be okay to grow with.
I have already germinated seeds under a small spiral cfl and i picked up this as this was the only thing i could find (hardware store didnt have a great range, and alot were way too big), and that would fit into my cupboard, 55cm width

It is a crompton compact striplight, 240v 60w with a 60w strip lamp , 332mm length

Honestly... why not spring for a few more CFL's and a small fan .

That will work, but not very well. Not very efficient either. Only the part of that light that is within a few inches of the plant will do anything for you, and the rest will be wasted. if you could wrap that light around your plant, you would be in business. Its all about light proximity with CFL's. Get some regular spiral cfl's and surround your plant with them. If you are serious about growing -READ THE GROWFAQ!!

i would go for it your never gonna know intill you try as there is to many factors ... but the light is kinda weak but still it wont have a problem with Vegging only flowering
if i was you buy a cheap hps 70w floodlight make sure it is a high pressure sodium bulb not halogen

HID lights are out of the question for size , money , heat , stealth ect.
what i got now is pretty bad, and has alot of heat as well, going to ditch it when im able to find some Y adapters (the hardware stores here in oz are bad imo, but ill go to somewhere better next time).
Anyway hopefully this + the spiral cfl i have in there will keep my babies alive till i can give them what i want / what they need.

Yh i had the same problem ...go for the CFL just add more as it gets bigger .

Doob, if you can't get a few CFL's on there, I think you should get a proper setup ready before you start baking sprouts.

i got a plant chillin' at 1'5'' check the journal... under 4-26 watt, i plan to replace all 26's with 45's for flowering...

sounds good nobustincaps...keep it going and yh as the plant grows and goes into flowering replace low output bulb for high output
