Will the roots bring water to the rockwool?

Hi guys i just have a real quick question for your genius brains lol. Anyway i have a diy setup with rockwool and hydrotron and im just wondering which way i want to water the plants. What i want to know is if i have a dwc setup if the roots are in the water/ getting moistened but the pellets are dry on top will the roots bring water to the rockwool? I just dont want the rockwool to dry up so im wondering if it has to be close enough to water to get moist or if the roots will bring the water. I also have supplies for a drip and or bubbleponics setup :-). Anyway thanks guys.

Once your roots are in the nutes in a DWC, you dont have to worry about the pellets and rockwool getting water. The roots help themselves to the nutrients.

Use a drip ring that only drips on the hydroton and misses the RW completely. The rockwool will pull enough moisture from the hydroton to keep itself properly moistened. The thing you dont want is to have the rockwool saturated at all times, that would mean trouble as soaked RW does not hold oxygen which is essential to roots and ultimately the whole plants well being. If this is unfeasable you CAN use drip on RW, but you can only do it once or twice a day and only for very short (Under 5 mins) periods.

Alright thank you guys. Where can i get those pre made drip rings at? I have looked at home depot but i cannot find them. I think i will do a dwc/drip system. This is my 2nd grow, 3rd attempt (my 4 i had dried up because my stupid ass girl invited people over when i told her not to so i couldnt go and water them without people getting suspicious.) They were only 2 weeks old so no huge deal. My first grow turned out to be males :-( but they were huge, like almost 6 feet tall lol. Anyway thanks guys
