Will my orchid fertilizer work for my MJ's?

Hi guys I used to be really into orchids so I still have some old fertilizer for them. I have some fertilizer that is 20-10-20 that is meant to be used all year round for foliage growth. Then I have a 30-10-10 that is meant to initiate flowering. This fertilizer is meant specifically for orchids but I wonder if it will work for MJ. Maybe if I water it down a lot it will work better. Any input would be great. The brand is Grow More. :leaf:peace:leaf:

Both would be ok for vegetative growth but you want something high in Phosphorus and low in Nitrogen for flowering. Start light (1/2 dose) as the Nitrogen in both ferts is quite high.

In my experience, MJ doesn't have any special needs that can't be met by high quality Orchid foods or staples like Jacks or Peters. Also, the elemental NPK content you're feeding your plants depends on your medium. It of course depends on the source but proportionately high nitrogen plant foods (as compared to phosphorus) in hydro during flower (1-1-1 ratios or higher like 2-1-1 or 1-1-2 etc.) tend to not perform as well as something with more of a 1-2-2 or 1-3-2 NPK ratio.

Dirt on the other hand seems to do very well with a 1-1-1 NPK ratio and supplying too much phosphorus with canna-specific boosters usually results in premature leaf-drop. I happen to use a 7-9-5 grow formula in flower more than I use my bloom formula just because you want healthy foliage for flower production, but something like Jacks 20-20-20 from start to finish with maybe a few doses of their Blossom booster 10-30-20 in dirt would yield results that would (at a minimum) equal the most over-priced and over-hyped hydro store canna-specific plant foods.

If you can grow and flower Orchids, you've already got a leg up on nearly everyone who posts on these boards.
