i was wondering if the U/V will kill the good organic bacteria from my DR. Earth food 4-4-4. i can always turn off the button. but it's suppose to kill, i think (ONLY) airborne germs, bacteria, cigarette smoke etc. i also use 2 fans. i tall one that swivals back and forth to circulate the air and strenghten the stems. the 2nd fan is small...like a little college or work desk fan near my plants to exhaust any heat given off by the cfl's....b/c they do giveView attachment 1792808 off a little heat believe it or not. 3 42watt 1 25watt....differing color temp from 5000k to 2600k, lumens total= 9635 for like a 2ft. space.
View attachment 1792807 as u can see on the right side that tall white thing is the air purifier. to the left is the small desk fan as exhaust. the tall fan circulating u cannot see....+ i leave my window open....i live in the city= no shortage of CO2 LOL! @ night i shut it b/c its starting to get colder outside in PHILLY.:leaf:
Thanx best wishes and happy growing.....joey

yeah philly is colder than in Los Angeles :P so I have two of the air purifiers....i used one of them for my MJ plant under CFL in my living room during daytime, I turned air purifiers with fan on it....and at the night time I opened the window so the plant can get a fresh air :)

I dont think the air purifiers kill the good organic in your potting...i may be wrong about it but i ve been growing organic pots, no problem with me.

THANX IZOC- i thought so b/c it says "kills airborne germs, bacteria" etc. the DR. Earth 4-4-4 probiotic is good bacteria that isn't airborne but is using soil as a medium....but ya never know when ur a NEW GROWER, like myself, so i needed another opinion. CAN I ask why do u turn fans onto ur air purifiers? oh, btw...my boy from LA, CALI....JUST gave me 3 seeds of O.G. KUSH....awsome. he's from L.A. and get medicinal M.J. i have seen the stickers and his old card. but yeah - i wanted to know why u do that thanx.

BEST WISHES & HAPPY GROWING...........joey!

oh yeah a lot of OG Kush in here no questions...I ve got 6 seeds left of OG purple kush now...im just waiting for new grow tent along with T5 light system on December after I spend $$ on christmas presents for my kids and wife :)

all the MJ plants need to develop their stems stronger when they start to budding...and try mimic outside alike since its grow indoor...so thats why I turned fan on it...otherwise your plant will fall down when they develop buds :)

Wow, that's a really good question......I wouldn't have thought of that.

My guess, and it's totally just a guess, is that I don't think the filter is that strong with the UV stuff, even if it says it's going to kill all of the bacteria. I think only a hospital grade filter would be able to kill everything.

Man, food for thought tho....
