Will higher temperature lights (5000K) increase female to male ratio

Hello - I am running a 3000K COB fixture, i grew 4 seedlings last time out, 3 of which turned out to be male.

I was wondering if bluer light would lead to more females or is it purely down to luck?

thank you

The only thing I know of that will increase the female ratio is short days. It's actually the opposite of what you would expect. So starting with 12/12 or even less should help. However there may be a point where it starts going the other way or herming, like say 8/16 or less. So I would stick with 12/12. Once you see flowers you could then increase to 18/6 or whatever long days you want, if you wanted them to get more size before the real flowering.

I've tried everything over the years. Picking seeds by shape, room temperature, day length, music(different types), humidity, talking to them calling everything a girl...

My best luck was 6 females out of 8. Worse luck, 2 females out 6. I've used a HID, box LED, and finally COBs with a mix of 3000k and 3500k.

With regular seeds it's a pull of a Law Vegas slot machine arm on what you get.

we know that good breeders have standardized their seed making rooms/conditions to optimize whats best for the plant/garden likely giving us an even mix of females and males in seed production. I've emailed back and forth with some about these things and learned how/what they do to accomplish this and try to replicate it in mine. stick with good breeders to get repeatable results. for example my flowering girls are solid milky white trichs in the week my breeders' say they will be.

thanks to everyone - saves me buying a veg light fixture!

is it worth adding any additions to my COB fixture to enhance plant development? Are there any proven methods? I see some people adding supplemental red or blue LEDs but not sure if they have been proven to improve a setup or just expectation/confirmation bias

thank you
