Will a sunny window sill provide adequate light for a cannabis seedling?

I am fresh to this hobby and am currently growing my first plant. As of now the plant is still a seedling and has its two embryonic leaves and the two small centered true leaves that are undergoing development. It isnt even a week old and since i havent invested in a proper cfl or grow light i am using a sunny window sill to give it a light source. Spring has just begun and it is currently late march almost april therefore temps are in the mid 50s to 60s so i figured id get it started indoors with sunlight. Do keep in mind though that the plant will not be on the window sill for the whole grow just a small portion of it to get it on its feet. I do have a cheap greenhouse but im fearing the lower temps will halt growth of the plant.

It's all in the stretch of the seedling. If it stays below about 2-2 1/2" inches. The light is bright enough. If the seedling stretches past 3"....

It's uses too much of the initial fuel(food)contained in the seed. It's a bean sprout on a salad.

you can do it and its done every year really depends on how much light. how many hours you are getting.

i got a tester plant not pot in my green house right now as night time temps in up state ny are still cold wating to see if it dies. but i would not want to stress my pot out with the cold yup east window or south wich ever gets more light hope this helps

The growth has been slower than i expected but its probably because it has been through alot of shit. I had accidently dropped the cup it was in and the seedling fell out, root exposed and the other day one of my cfls had dropped on the plant slightly burning one of the leaves. Im just gonna be patient and let it take its time. Although it looks just fine and its still green.

Depends. I saw a nice window grown plant on here the other day. Unless it gets more than 6 hours of direct sunlight I would say no. Cannabis requires a lot of light.

Never mind. To get it started will be fine a song as it gets 5-6 hours minimum direct sunlight.

Oh i thought that that a seedling needed veg lighting like short darkness and long light periods thanks for the help my man

That's not what I said. It does need the same light schedule as veg. I said if using the window it need 5-6 hours of direct sunlight. Meaning the sun is directly shining on the plant through the window. It still needs more than 6 hours light.

Well i think im good cuz right now the plant is getting tons of sunlight in a greenhouse outdoors and at night i have it under 40 watts of cfl lighting. So its getting light during the day and all through the night. I know I should invest in some more cfls but the plant isnt stretching or anything.
