Cheap DIY carbon scrubber.
My room is "sealed" but is built on a slab in the garage, so I have some leakage. This is what I came up with on the fly...

Cheap box fan.
1385227438730.jpg
Wire screen, small enough mesh to hold the carbon.

Take the back screen off of the fan, lay it over the screen and use a marker to trace it out.

I used tin snips to then trim the mesh, and went a bit outside of the line to give myself some extra play room.
Next simply put the mesh back under the plastic grid of the fan, and reassemble.

Then I did a quick mount in the corner of the room, with the fan blowing down and added the carbon.

I only bought one small container of carbon, and initially was (and still will) going to cover the entire fan, but ran out.

After about ten minutes of having the room shut tight, there is no odor in the garage, and it passed the wife's sniff test!
Actually the room is now way less skunky, so I'm calling this a success, of course between grows I'll hang it better and clean up the look a bit, probably add a prefilter as well.
Just thought I'd share!

Lol... Thanks. Less than $25... Then again I did just happen to have the mesh laying around. Probably could have gotten away with using cheese cloth, temporarily anyway.

"The plants smell better than you do, so you get out instead!"

Just kidding. I had the opposite thing happen this morning. I was harvesting a couple of Jack Herer plants, and my girl kept going outside then back in because she wanted to keep having that whole scent sensation :)

Lol. Nice. How do you like the Jack btw? Haven't had the pleasure to try it yet myself, but was contemplating it on the next go around.

I absolutely LOVE it. My very short Moms kick out a ton of clone worthy offshutes very quickly, I have a 100% clone rate with roots 12" long in 16-18 days, and they grow straight up, short, predictable and the bud grows along the entire stem from bottom to top. Easy to harvest.

I don't smoke, but I did take a couple hits just to try it out. Has a mild pine taste, and spicy. Great high. It works wonders in edibles too.

Overall, my favourite strain I've grown by far, absolutely perfect for my perpetual, 8 plant-at-a-time-cycle SOGs.

ps. I go straight from clone to flower, so growth pheonos may be different if it is given a veg period. The way I do it, there's no side-branching, which is ideal for my setup.

that's pretty nifty I had an idea similar to that but I didn't follow through with it, I went the lazy way and bought a carbon filter lol. Good job my friends, I love seeing stuff like this. You don't have to spend 200 dollars on a carbon filter.

I just use a T connector in the duct. I fill the T with activated carbon from the pet store.
Works like a champ. I dont care how stinky the buds are, it blows out fresh.

You can use an in-line duct fan booster from Lowes/Home Depot for 29.99 or you can even use one of the bathroom CFM fans for 13.99.

Yeah if I ever vent outside I think I'd run a 6" inline pusher fan like you're talking about. right now though I only grow during the winter months and rely on ambient temps outside of the room for my cooling. Think heat sink. My current fresh air is opening and closing the door.
:)
Cheers!

I'll consider that poboy. The blue cheese is considerably more pungent than the bag seed I started off with. Damn I reek of weed after stepping outside!
