Why are dj short genetics so expensive?

However long story short, Emery ends up screwing me over, by letting his moderators do all sorts of wierd things to my account. Like re editing my bio at Cannabis Culture, so it said I was an idiot etc.

I had never seen the like of it before. When it became appearent that I wasn't just going to give emery free product, and let him screw me when he felt like it. He was going to be a king size ass...

This all happened years back, so I decided to try it again last year. Just to prove to myself the reality of the situation.

Wierd scene first I was welcomed back with open arms. The moderators putting my breeding vids up and recommending them.

Then I started getting wierd messages from some of the posters, and them invading my threads making wierd and insulting comments.

So guess what when i call a mod and ask them, to see if they can stop the harrasement. They decide to ban me instead...

Here's the screen shot of what I saw when I logged in for the final time at Cannabis Culture.

Disseminating malicious, detrimental and self-serving falsehoods to the community? You read that? Pretty big words, I'm not stupid by any means. But I had to stop and think a minute what that actually meant.

And after I thought about it, I still didn't understand it. Like I some how had such power, that if I said the earth was going to end people would start killing themselves?

People lie all the time to make themselves look good don't they? Who gets banned for something like that?

I mean it's not like I was selling something, or advertising anything. Or that I wasn't welcomed as an expert there with what seemed to be open arms.

If I have a short coming it's actually being to honest...So stuff like this really surprises me...

I'll stand by anything I said at Cannabis Culture as totally factual, and defy anyone to prove otherwise.

Your answers for the DJ question make perfect sense ..you can with logical facts ..ad space ..name buying etc ...I never even thought about some of that

As far as the whole emery thing ..as interesting and dishearting as the story is ..there's always 2 sides to a story ..with that said emery is supposed to be working on some medical scene project In the states soon ..I don't kno much about but it is being discussed somewhere else ..

Because it seems like u go way back on the MMJ scene ..but idk if this is the right place for it ..maybe start a thread in the den ?..but I am interested in the story itself ..it would be interesting to hear about more varieties from those times and what is was like and working with those people ..seems like u have alot of old info ready to come out lol

money grubbing pollen chunking pheno hell producing unstable genetics cult leader mentalities with garbage products...yes for instance jacks cleaner 2...NONE OF THE PLANTS HAD ANY SIMILARITY to than at all...and as beings they are fake ass fucks///now theres some price gougers for garbage but yet you wanna down DJ Short? Why do you insist on being a hypocrite and spout all this false bs...AND for your info I am 48 and have been at this since we grew with fluorescents and incandescents as hid was not even available yet
i know if Dj did any of the things swerve does i wouldn;t recommend them. A 5yr old clown is no comparison to a 25yr old vet. djs genetics are stable, reliable and dj helps med users instead of taking there money and telling them "you shouldnt have paid with paypal". I am sure if Dj had fraud on his site he would red flag it and start sending replacements. oh well morefor me

By that count at current prices of beans if your in the biz 5-6000 beans... 1 plant @ $10 a bean is $50-60 k

you can make more off seeds than you can off the bud from 1 plant...sad just sad

they chargin $10 a bean and more ....... should be $1 a bean :finger:
Your math is way off. First of all wholesale for seed is typically around 50% retail. Then you need grow supplies, electricity, etc. you may need to hire people at times. You have to pay to compete to win cups. You basically have no clue that blueberry is basically an heirloom at this point, and two different heirlooms crossed create the true bred F1 hybrids, which is basically your superman type of a plant when it comes to vigour, fitness, and resistances. So yea the value of genetics that have been selectively inbred since the 70s are priceless for breeding.

im not sure you understand. at all
any breeder who charges more than 3$ per seed before retail markup needs a punch in the jaw, i liked companies like growdoc who made high quality strains for cheap prices because they knew the people that really needed them couldnt afford outrageuosness
thats now what cannabis is about, i think you may need to get off the forums and go smoke one.
Deep purple is better than dj's ibls anyway when a strain is ibl'd further than the point of need be a breeder can never put out the same product twice... go on try again
You must not know the value of what you would refer to as overbred ibl. Let me educate you. Yes, when you go on selectively inbreeding, the fitness of your gene pool is declining. At this point if 95% + of your plants are the same from inbreeding, you have an hierloom variety. In order to create a true bred F1 hybrid you need two different varieties of heirlooms, each with different traits you have bred them for.

When creating a true breed, you create a new phenotype that adopts all of the traits you selected. There is little to no variation, very uniform you usually only see difference in size between males and females. They outperform any other types, because of their heterosis or "hybrid vigour", increased fitness and resistances. I can say from experience they consume water and food at least twice as fast as any other types, but it's a trade off worth it. They prolly throw out 10 x more bud sights than the parents.

I just popped a couple of true breed blackberry x Durban poison. Both parents are landraces one pure sativa the other pure indica both worked on for about 20 years. The breeder who I am picking up where he left off gets all the credit for spending so long creating heirlooms, knowing how vital they are to breeding true bred F1 hybrid. In the pics, is a family pic blackberry bottom left and Durban poison bottom right. Up top are 2 of the brand new f1, all I had plant space for so they need further testing.

I've belonged to websites.. where we produced and sold our seeds I know whats involved..

I have also given my clone only strains to breeders..... I breed myself ...you don't know shit

My math is off..hahahahaha 1 plant can serious produce 1-2 thousand seeds and we do charge $10 a bean....$10,000 of 1 seeding plant easy

I grow the original starfighter..... I was gifted the clone as a trade for my clone only original chemdawg

I seen beans for starfighter sell for $300-500 for 1 bean https://www.rollitup.org/t/did-u-c-the-starfighter-seeds-that-went-for-20-000.502595/

Guess who breed it.... someone I knew and gave clones to :) Newbies are so gullible

Once you have your cut, of the strain you want to grow.... seeds are pointless unless you want to sell them...you can clone for life

I mean all of that money can't funnel into research in development because he hasnt put out a new strain in years, seems a little greedy to me even if you cut his prices in half, im not quarreling that his strains arent any good, i look to them specifically to find variegated genotypes but to me thats all their worth

anyone know what these breeders do with all the cash? im kinda tired of people who care more about making money than the joy they get out of creating something useful for generations to come

i think that some breeders dont understand what it means to give back to the community, or that they are preying on growers who they know have alot of cash.

how many seeds does one full size plant produce anyways?
Good point, but at least DJ (and JD) produce Top-Quality strains. Take Soma for example. I've Never seen such expensive seeds in all my years. Now That is Greed. Even Serious Seeds and Sensi don't charge that much for their proven genetics.

Honestly, you can call it greed but really it's just stupidity. Almost no one buys seeds at that price unless they know they will get something incredible. Meaning almost no one buys Soma seeds. So actually he's shooting himself in the foot charging that much.. it's real obvious to me that a lot of guys involved in breeding have little to no business sense (and definitely no education). He'd make a lot more at a lower price. He's costing himself opportunity having seeds sit on the shelf doing nothing for years.

For real and after all that time on the shelf the few who do buy bitch about low germination rates. Meanwhile I would have done plenty of Soma and DJ's shit if I could buy more than one pack without feeling like I got ripped off. But Mr. Nice I tried everything I had interest in except SSH but I got plenty of seeds from a cleaning pack I'll be starting like spring. Plus I do just fine without spending too much not that I can't afford expensive seeds just can find better shit to spend my money on no sense making people rich for just a few plants you may not even care for. Not like people will be like "Damn you paid that much for seeds?? Here's an extra $20" lol, fuck no!! Most won't even buy hash so that's pretty much all I smoke.

Actually Sensi seeds is a rip off for some of their better lines Jack Herrer and Mr. Nice (G13xhashplant) and a few others even Big Bud is over priced to me.

This dude just bragged on some clones he got like they don't get passed around everywhere that wasn't actually someone's work but just a cross between copies of others people's work, said seeds are pointless unless you want to sell them (if seeds are pointless why would one sell them?), and then say "You don't know shit".

I would only grow your Chem clone for flowers, but any breeder who using it to cross and sell in seed form deserves a swift kick in the butt. In the dog breeding business, you have your responsible breeders getting out bad blood of their lineage and then you have your puppy mill breeder who is only out to make a buck selling junk. (If there are known hermie issues in starfighter and Chem for breeding it is junk)Same rules apply to cannabis genetics. I don't think I'm special, but fortunate to gain access to a vast collection with lots of old seed you can't even buy on the market, and can get my hands on basically whatever I want as long my teacher's roots run deep in this game. I'm working on creating brand new gear from scratch like a blank canvas waiting to become something original, not recycled genetics breeders these days doing collages.
