wow....this website is cool. I've been looking around it for about 2 hours now. beyond informative. I am a first time grower. basically I took a bunch of seeds, threw them in a pot and wowwowweewow. something started growing...EVERYWHERE!!!! I have 21 little tiny plants growing in a 1 gallon flower pot. its been about 5 days. exciting but I have no idea what I'm doing. their growing in the middle and around the rim. I'm going to home depot today. Need to know if they can be saved and how/best method.

Thanks

ah, that's going to be a hard one...
you need to transplant ASAP! before, they get any bigger...
i would say, get a little shovel, for digging & try to pull them out
with the soil/dirt around the tap root & plant them in individual pots & water thoroughly

but, hey, that's just me
maybe, someone else, can give you a better idea...

good luck!

Damn... 21 plants in one single pot... not a good thing.

These plants require a single individual container for each one. Keeping multiple plants in a single container creates a lot of problems. The ones that survive to the end will yield significantly less than if they had been grown in individual containers. One of the biggest problems in doing this is that the roots will all intertwine with one another and become a giant tangled mess. Each plant will be competing for space, nutrients, and water. The stronger plants will choke out the smaller plants which will die, and then the dead roots will decay creating root rot that will spread to all the others. Plus, you've gotta worry about how you're going to flag and remove the males. I suggest you put an end to this current experiment. Spend some time reading the GrowFAQ and learning more about the process. Then when you are more comfortable with the fundamentals, put a plan together and post it here in the forum. Give us a chance to review your plan and make suggestions before you pull the trigger. Once you've done all that and you've got a solid game plan, begin the execution and grow your first crop.

dude i did this to myself. Get the soil real wet, and then get a spoon. Make sure you have new pots ready with soil in them, preferably dry. Dig i nice hole outta the center of the new pots, then as carefully as you can, you take the spoon and make a ring around an individual plant and you take that ring strait down, so your kindof pulling a cork out with the plant on top. It worked pretty well for me, i found the tap root was straight down, and they didnt have a lot of horizontal growth yet. although i had 5 in an 8 inch pot. Good luck

get a load of individual pots and transplant them into these pots. Be very careful when doing so, and give them a GOOD watering after and leave them alone for a few days. With 21 im sure u will get a fair few survivors
