Who tempted Eve? Satan or the serpent? Why did God punish the serpent?

Dogma has Satan taking over a serpent with the power that God gave her when God cast her from heaven. I call Satan, her, because the early church depicted Satan as female. That is clear in Michal Angelo’s paintings in the Vatican.

If Satan took the serpent over and made it speak the words to temp Eve, then Satan would be culpable for the temptation and for God to punish the serpent would have been un-just.

Serpents cannot speak without supernatural help. Satan appears to be guilty while the serpent seems to be innocent.

Why did God punish the serpent instead of Satan?

The account in Genesis of the woman sinning first, and then enticing the man to sin after her, is a bunch of bullshit.

Leave it to the male writers of Genesis to blame it on the woman. Par for the course.

Indeed. And then the Vatican had the effrontery to have Michal Angelo paint the serpent with obvious female breasts and countenance. Insult after injury.

Yet look at all the Christian females who sheepishly sit at the back of the Christian bus and say nothing. And their really religious men do nothing either.

So much for real Christian men who don't care if their wives and daughters ever have equality.

Why doesn't go 'un-make' Satan? If Satan is the worlds worst problem, god must either willfully choose to let him run rampant, or is powerless to do anything about him.

He's either impotent or malevolent.

If I setup a Rube Goldberg machine that will eventually cause a boulder to fall on my brand new BMW, how angry can I be if I'm the one who sets up the machine, am fully aware of what the final outcome will be, and still start the machine up and make sure nothing prevents it from being started? How upset can really be when my BMW gets destroyed?

Seems that sway for sure.

It is perhaps even worse if you consider that God rewarded Satan with dominion over us.

Seems that God rewards evil.

Exactly. If you do get upset, it would prove your insanity.

And according to the bible, god can't be tempted. Yet satan carried his happy ass right up to heaven and tempted god into punishing Job.
Good stories, thats about it. Just mans way of dealing with death. Thats why every religion has an afterlife in 1 form or another.

In that story God admits to doing evil yet most Christians do not see it and blame God's lackey in this case, Satan, who only took orders.

Christians find the hit man guilty while letting the one who hired and paid for the hit off the hook. You have to love that Christian justice. Soooo just. Not.
