OK, We as patients and caregivers need to be able to keep ourselves up to date on whats happening in our program..And Im sure many have seen just how hard it is to get a DR to write the recommendations(Even your primary care DR for what ever condition/s he sees you for)So..I think we need a thread for people WHO "KNOW" certain Drs that will help Patients with recommendations and Renewals.

This IS NOT intended to exploit or put Drs Names out there.IF YOU KNOW OF A DR/Clinic, JUST ADD A CONTACT TO YOUR PROFILE FOR PEOPLE TO CONTACT YOU FOR INFO AND STATE HERE THAT YOU CAN HELP..THX....

And If you Do NOT agree with this idea..YOU DONT HAVE TO POST HERE SAYING ITS NOT RIGHT,TO YOU IT MIGHT NOT BE, BUT TO OTHERS ITS JUST WHAT WE NEED.

the issue is that probably no one (especially patients or doctors) will want their name on the internetz for anyone to read as a "doctor who gives out recommendations"... the media would have a field day... just sayin

Threads like this say it all when it comes to compassionate law states. If you truly had a terrible illness that warranted compassion and your use of marijuana as a medically prescribed drug, you wouldn't need a list of 'doctors' that will easily prescribe MMJ. I laugh my ass off when you guys call yourselves 'caregivers'. You are simply growers looking for patients to add to your list so you can up your plant count and increase your profits.

It's quite sad really. I believe that MJ should be legal for all and I refuse to even consider looking for that special 'doctor'. I suffer from acute anxiety disorder and weed greatly benefits me. I quit taking dangerous anti-psychotics that were altering my personality. Without weed, I would be a wreck and virtually useless outside of my house.

Those that get cards for colds, or the occasional sleepless night, or for acne or whatever really piss me off. I refuse to hide behind a medical card because EVERYONE should be able to consume MJ, regardless, even though I can easily obtain one. I feel that the compassion laws are in the right place, but MJ shouldn't be on the schedule one list anyways. Those that toke legally and grow legally and are in perfect health.... watch yourselves.... karma is a mother fucker.

So now it comes down to swapping doctor lists..... that is kind of sad... If you have a legit reason to currently get a card and your own Dr won't write one, get another permanent Dr that will. If MJ will truly benefit you, you need to follow up with your doctor that prescribed it to ensure you are receiving what you need. It is useless to see one Dr on a reg basis and another just for a card, unless of course nothing is really wrong with you to begin with. All I'm sayin is, a Dr in the know, is a Dr that will keep you healthy.

sera: watch whom you go painting with that broad ugly brush...
it doesn't strengthen our community by painting everyone as greedy and out for profits...
just keep in mind that *everyone* has a story, a motive and a reason to do what they do...
no one is so pure of heart/ motive that they can declare everyone else as out to screw everyone else over...
with respect to you and your reasons for needing mmj, i've got my reasons, as does this other person, and it is well within the realm of possibility that we aren't out to boost our numbers or get profits...

take it easy there fella...

i've been crushing my head against the wall just trying to get my partner's doctors to even look at the details about mmj, they won't even look into it unless i buy the books for them, and then treat them like little kids, and have them give me a report afterwards... you are super lucky to have a card, but that doesn't mean everyone has had the same experience... i hope you think twice before the next time you go running off and calling everyone greedy...

I didn't call everyone greedy. Greed is a human trait and you'll find it in every culture of society, not just with medical marijuana. I'm merely pointing out that it does indeed exist in our culture as well. And I do NOT have a card. I think you read through my post loosely and missed my points entirely.

i did read your post and am glad that you *could* qualify to get a card, though the reasoning behind not having your rights protected properly is unclear to me... in my case, i probably would not qualify under laws in most states (except for california) mostly because they are not as strong about psychological illnesses as they are about physical ones... in my partners case, if they could come up with a diagnosis (been seeing a team of docs for years now) maybe a card would be possible, but for now, there isn't anything that can be done, as the team of docs get that pained vague look in their eyes and brush us off because "there is a lack of research"... i'm not a commercial grower, not in it for the money, just want to be able to do what is right by my partner, and take umbrage at the thought of being lumped in there with all the other dirtbags making money off of the suffering of patients... so why don't you have a card, i know i would in a second if i could...

***Cough*** ***Cough*** Ahhh..Much Better Now..

Most Drs are not willing to even give it much thought unless you really press em hard with facts and info and still most will not give you the care YOU fell is needed.so YOU need to do whats best for you.Do YOU give up on MAYBE finding and trying a medication that can help you maintain and tolerate what ever condition you may have?...YES there are SOME people that MIGHT abuse the Program. But Not all,And I'm Accually a Patient so...............................................................

There was a list of doctors in R.I. that have the ability to give out the cards. Im not sure where to find it but im in the know and Im pretty sure its obtainable some where on the internet. I was gonna stay out of this tread do to the fact Im very fortunate to have my card, I got some backpain that has been medicly documented. Keep in mind people that doctors have side deals with pharmicudical companys to push there drugs. The health insurance industry is so terrible it makes me fucking sick. I work where there is alot of old sick people and this one women has cancer and pain from something else and the prick doctor she goes to refuses to give her the card shes poor but is in kimo and this asshole even when I gave her all the paperwork the douche refuses to perscribe it for her . But he has no issue with writing her scrips for 100 vicotin every other month. She has no respritory issues either. I fucking hate the system, but I have been this way along time and now I manipulate, con, ajust , and work with it as best I can. I suggest never allow someone to tell you u can't do anything, push every chance u can for what u want , U only live once. I agree with the dude that got pissed we all should be able to smoke injest or what have you weed , but the alchol companies will fight agianst it since they will lose tremendous buissness. WE ARE RHODE ISLAND AND I CONSIDER US ELITE COMPARED TO NORMAL PEOPLE. EVERY DAY I THANK SLATER IN MY OWN WAY I SUGGEST YOU ALL DO TO. Im gonna get high now and lose this damn hangover. Oh the comedy connection last night in east prov. was off the hook funny. The host had a nice opening about weed wish i recorded it .
