The Story
I prepped my cloner by running bleach through the thing at full strength (~8% Clorox). Then I cleaned it by running it through scalding hot water, then ran the pump for awhile with warm tap water, then ran cold. I disassembled the pump prior to clean and after to rinse well. I also cleaned all foam inserts and nets in scalding water and bleach like the rest of the parts.

Specs
Life Cloning solution
5.8 PH with 1/4 H2O2
Water temp is 68-70F.
Water is being cooled by my portable A/C. I have the bottom half of the cloner next to the A/C outlet.

Day one went fine, they looked healthy still, emitter didn't clog, and stems looked clean.
Day two slight white snot on one stem.

Day three, all have White Slime / White Snot.
I checked PH each day (5.9), and I added more H2O2 today, about an hour later it seemed to be looking better.

Anyone have a fact based answer what the white slime is?
What kind of biological damaging agent is this? A fungus, a mold, bacteria, or maybe the plants defense system forming some sort of thing like leukocytes...???

I have read many forums about this same kind of issue but, I have yet to see an answer that suit what I need to know.

FYI: I may just go to using Rapid Rooters to alleviate having this headache in the future, but I am afraid this will occur in my DWC also.

Do you know what the slime is?

BTW: That is a wicked cloner. I was like "How does he get the plant out without ripping off the roots" I guess you do since it works for ya.

So your saying bleach wipe down and lots of bubbles helped prevent your slime?
CORRECT, the slime was of obvious form of bacteria, a cloud like fog in water ...UGH! what I should do is change the water after every 7 days then wash it out with hot water and 10% bleach, but was afraid to upset the current Ph, even tho that bacteria was doing the very same thing ...lol
I did have to cut out one clone from its plug, what I learn't from this model ...was no light is the best way to make clones, I since have melted this cloner with a fish tank heater that got faulty, so currently up to model 8-9 and have simplified things considerably ...good luck!

Sad crap for me when the lights came on. Well that stupid daisy cloner clogged up while I was sleeping and the stems look very dry. I cleared it and got it going again. We will see if they take.
Meanwhile, I will be cutting some more and going the older fashion route... Rapid Rooters

Look into live vs sterile res and stop using peroxide if you go the aact route

Good luck

I started reading about live beneficials. I got worried about the work that I would have to put into it. Though I love hydro's results. I have done 2 successful grows in Hydro. My first was in a Emily's Garden (Wick/DWC) , then I made my own Ebb & Flow, that also went well. I have never had issues before this go at cloning in my Daisy Cloner. Though lugging water back and fourth with my back issues isn't the greatest.
I used a powered kerosene pump to get the water out of the 25 gallon container and would transfer 5 gallon buckets at a time. I would pre-mix each to refill, then check again my PPM & PH.

I broke down my Daisy Cloner again, I even ripped off the rubber suction cup feet and threw them away. I saw some brown crud on them. This time, I also removed the motor and shaft. I cleaned all of it in a 1/4 strength ammonia. Then rinsed, allowed to dry and rinsed again and dried.
Then I cleaned with 1/4 strength Bleach at 8%. (Clorox). Washed in 180F water (my tap is that hot because of the old boiler system I have).
Then rinsed in 180F and rinsed in cold and allowed to dry.
I will give it a go again after my Mother recovers a bit.
I have 17 kernels coming that just passed through customs the other day from what the USPS tracker says.

It should look like this in my tank at 40x magnification huh?
I found this at http://www.gardeningwithmicrobes.com/aact.shtml

OH! Sorry, I meant to thank you also for piping up and helping out with some advice.

One more thing SnaFuu.
Do you have a thread that gives a step by step guide?
I am confused a bit. Do I add a certain amount of tea to my water or is my REZ filled 100% with tea? The latter sounds dangerous.

Here's the thread that changed everything

https://www.rollitup.org/t/dwc-root-slime-cure-aka-how-to-breed-beneficial-microbes.361430/

It's a great read, and will teach you so much. Basically $30 worth of ingredients will make 50+ batches that last a week each. You add the tea to your res, and you cannot add too much. More the better really. No more chillers, no more pathogens, no more cleaning your res!!! The tea does it all man.

Did you see this thread about Clorox and/or Pool Shock?
https://www.rollitup.org/t/make-2200-worth-of-clear-rez-for-4-for-non-organic-guys.423734/

Have you tried either of these methods?

Thanks for the link. I actually ran into that and thats where it became heartbreaking. I like convenience so brewing up a batch every week seems like a pain in the butt when other methods such as Clorox sound much easier. Now I do understand that sometimes shorter paths lead to negative results, though in the case of hydro... it's a quick way to veg and the only thing outside of brews or nutes you have to supply thats a high consumable is water.

Ya you know, im not gonna bullshit you. Running high doses of chlorine or bleach or h2o2 or physan 20 or DM zone will work. But try a side by side, one live one sterile. The live seems to support better roots.

And the tea IS a pain in the ass. But not really. And i'm hooked on what it can do. If you want ease, AND a live res, you could run hydroguard and pondzyme.

Honestly you just have to experiment yourself and see what works best for your situation.
