Where do you go, when looking for clones, when you can't find the strain you want?

Thanks for the offer, but I finally did find some Permafrost clones in Tacoma. I staggered their flowering and they are all growing beautifully, with the first one to harvest within the month. I can't wait. I have been having problems getting it to clone tho so I may be looking for it again soon. Only have one clone that took so far.
only one geez r u letting them sit in the dark for twelve hours after u cut em? try cloning in soil too. some times mine take two weeks to root. i buy seeds from rainier wellness center. i prefer seeds cuz u know u wont get bugs and u get to pick what pheno u want.

and so that you know, even with an f1 hybrid there is still a decent chance of getting an unexpected "pheno"/variety. The words phenotype and strain are thrown around too much, and misused even more. Unless you have a BC3F3 you will get a vast mix of allele traits (phenotypes) and even some that resemble different varieties (strains). Be weary of breeders that are ignorantly bottlenecking our genetics! ask for lineage of the seeds, if they can only speculate on where it came from, then they can only SPECULATE what it may become

I am starting over with new seeds, there may be reliable places here in my lil area to get good clones. however I'm not that social lately and no way to find said reliable people.
figured easier to just start from seed in the long run, plus I plan to make seeds of my favs this time , will not need to worry about it again.

Agreed f1s are not strains, just hybrid seeds from two parents. I really hate that this is becoming a common thing with breeders. If it takes you 10 seeds to find a keeper, then you had ten different mixes of two strains but nothing solid. A strain should be uniform and 8 of 10 should be uniform and keepers.

it should take only a few with f1 lineage to get uniformity...Then those should be inbred and back crossed with maternal lineage to further develop a variety (strain). after a few selective f2/f3 back crosses then a strain (variety) develops, but breeders today are passing off F1s as different strains...
