When to flower?

Hi guys, my details

4 plants all psychosis strains
Growing in bubble pot hydroponic
Using genesis formula as nutes
Have 2 600w cool tubes
Good air circulation and good temperatures in a large grow tent

this is my second grow and my first one went great for yields I pulled around 12 oz off each plant BUT I had an issue that they grew out of control! Struggled to stop tops burning etc.

I have done some reading sine then and found that it was probably because the seeds I used were pure sativas so even though they were fairly small when I went to 12/12 they carried on growing big time lol.

My question is from the info on the net the psychosis strain is a mix of sativas and indica.

When should I flower? At what sort of height?

At the moment all 4 look very healthy, very bushy and are around 2 feet tall!
I'm jut trying to avoid the same problems as before but without putting them into flower too early and losing out on awsome bud!

I'm not sure how high your lights can go but I'm guessing your tent is no taller than 6'. Given how big the lights are, plus the hanger, let's say you have 5'. I've never used 600w but I would assume you don't want them much closer than 12". I'd say flip now. If they are 2' tall, they will be close to 4' once they finish, if not taller.

In general with seeds, I like to wait till they are at least 2 months old to flower, so the plant is mature. Another thing is if I don't know how the strain is going to stretch, I plan on it doubling in size.

Ok, I was kind of assuming the same thing. I will change them to 12/12 tomorrow then. Yeah all your assumptions are correct. The cool tubes are drawing air direct from outside so they do keep the lights very cool to the touch so could go closer than 12' but your right in what you say!

Thanks jimmer, the first grow was seeds but these were clones that I've planted. I've tried to get hold of the guy they came from a few times but he's elusive lol
