When to flower?

Summer -

I recommend people flower primarily on their set up. The amount of lighting is usually the MOST important factpr. If a grower is using CFLs, 3 month is way to long.

Actually, except for outdoor growing, 3 months seems far to long to grow any plant in the vegetative stage. In 3 months a single plant can be 4 feet tall and fill an entire closet. When you induce flowering, this plant may shoot up to 5 or 6 feet. To light a plant of that size properly could very well require 1000 watts HPS from the top and another 1000 watts of fluorescents from the sides. If you have the ability to do this kind of lighting, the rewards will be substantial!!!! But most people do not have the ability, for one reason or another, to preform of grow of this nature.

This is a plant that was flowered at 15 days old and only 4 inches tall, using CFLs for lighting. It havested 3 ounces incuding a 17 gram main cola.

and NOW you KNOWM[/img]
Okay I mean woow dude thats looks veery good but what kind of strain is tha??t If you got that from bag seeds please condsider your self lucky if it lowryder well then there you go I have flower many many plants at that same height and got nutting but males I have gotten a few females but not alot I have always had better chance of leting grow more is that a auto-flower strain?

:peace::wall: Picture this, me reading this last post, shaking my head and laughing. Can ya picture it? Don't take this personal ganjadav420, but it looks like you have a bit of a reading comprehension problem. There are several posts in this thread, including mine, that explain things very clearly. Please go back and read it again, and read it slowly this time. It is a FACT, that ALL Cannabis plants, NOT certain strains, will become sexually mature when vegged long enough. Then, and only then will your plant produce the best weed it is genetically capable of producing. This has nothing to do quantities. One last thing, that must have been some kinda "Super-duper genetic freak of nature" plant you had there to yield you OVER A POUND("470g") of weed when vegged only three(3) weeks. I hope you have more of those seeds bro, or you took clippings! LMAO! Come on man, be serious. I have grown numerous plants that yielded over a pound each, and they were vegged at least 8-10 weeks, outside, and all of them ended up between 6 and 7 feet tall. There's NO WAY a plant that was vegged for three weeks, and was prolly only 18"-24" tall, if that, gave up a pound of weed. Sorry babe, I ain't buying it.:peace:
Hey I will agree with you that most of the time about 99% of time the plants would need to be bigger.

I also have grown alot of oplants being that I'm 55 I have been doing this for a while.(just started to hydro Iwas doin outdoor and indoor soil for the longest)

I know its hard to belive that a plant of that size would no produce but it did I have never had another plant grow like that prolly never will(And no I did not do any clipping should of it was seeds that were order off the net) only that one.

I have 10 plants right that are budding and NONE have those alternating node so sorry babe if you think I belive ALL marijuana plants needs to have that in order to flower awesome bud

You can flower whenever you want technically....that picture above just shows what a typical plant looks like when it's at fully maturity.....all plants when they're "ready" to flower will do that......you don't have to wait to flower....eventually, they will all look like that.....the longer you veg the bigger your yield will be.....hope any of that helps

That's for the 18" plant that produced over a pound of weed.

Next, like I said before bro, READ THE THREAD SLOWLY. No one here said that you can't grow GREAT bud without waiting for your girls to become "Sexually Mature". Simply stating that if you wait for them to become sexually mature(alternating internodes), they will produce the BEST bud they are capable of producing. Jesu e Maria! :wall:

I have two plants. The nodes on the one are alternating but not on the other. Plus the one is about 6 inches shorter than the other and I have no idea why. Same seeds (so I was told), same soil, same water, same fert.., same light and space from the light. It has me a little bewildered. One plant is light green and tall, the other is really dark green resembles a maple tree and is extremly short and bushy. They both seem to be healthy. But the small one is taking forever to play catch-up. Any theroy's, Ideas or preventive measures? I need some insight please . . . .

My original 6 were the same way. Same seeds (insane bag seed), light, etc. Some were bushy and dark green, some were thinner looking with lighter green. I picked the 4 best to flower (limited space) and ended up with 2 guys and 2 gals. The darker, bushy ones were the boys, and the dainty lighter green ones are my 2 gals. (Coincidence?) Here's a pic of 2 weeks into flowering. Vegged for 40 days. This is my 2nd (but 1st serious) attempt at growing. I'm going to call it "Wally HD" when im done because all the stuff was bought at Walmart and Home Depot haha. How they look people??!!??!?

how many sets of leaves does a plant usially have before they begin to alternate? is it more a genetic thing? sorry first time grower i know the question would answer it self if i waited and watched them grow. but you know how it is to be impatient :P
