When should i move seedlings into the system?

I germinated and sprouted (?) my new seeds about 8 days ago. I have 4 healthy seedlings that are just starting their second set of 'true' leaves. When should I toss these bad girls into the RDWC system? I've got timed drippers (15m every 1.5 or 2 hrs) so im confident the rockwool will stay moist.

EDIT: also, I've seen no action out of these other 2. Is it worth waiting? Or should I chuck em?

I don't normally use rockwool but if you germed them all and they popped I'd wait longer on those others ones before tossing them. make sure they are moist enough.

I put my seedlings in my system as soon as the tap root comes out the bottom of my starting medium (rockwool, plug, etc). You might have to top feed them a little but for a week or so till the roots hit the water.

Tap root is magic you don't have to wait for a good bunch of roots such as when working with clones so as soon as she pops out you can move it over. You definitely don't want your tap root to turn brown, wither and die because that sir would suck. On the other two that didn't pop wait a little long making certain they are not too dry or too wet. You need that wet to dry cycle on the rockwool also not allowing them to dry out but definitely not soggy wet all the time. If they don't pop soon I'd investigate, if they drowned or dried out they will look the part.

good idea! i got blackness at night, webcam doesnt do much good. might steal your idea ;)

Yo def...green lights a must. ..especially when u need to get in your g room and you don't wanna disrupt! !!..I'm freaking loving the hydro system tho...my first time...it's been 2 months and they are freaking monsters...Def going dwc for now on....they are so happy , I've never seen a plant stretch it leaves towards the light as much as now...like the leaves are freaking vertices lol...it's crazy....how long have you been growing?

haha, this is maybe my... 4th attempt, still super new, and only my second attempt at DWC. I did flood+drain in the past, it was much trickier. DWC from now on definitely!

Yes definitely. ...it's not to bad once u grasp the concept..I've spent at least 3000 in my whole set up over the last 2 years lol...but it Def makes all the difference. .

oh yea, investment was definitely big enough that this... has to work lol. Most of the computer and env-control stuff i already had around, but my god do the random costs add up quick. my poor budget =\

If you clone perpetually you will learn it really well and you will always have mature veg plants ready to move over. I survive from clones

Nice set up man. I have something similar in rdwc . I'll tell u now the sooner the better I waited too long like a rook and ended up having stunted plants . If I were you I would have them in there and turn it on and let em go. Once the roots start taking hold of the rock wool it will need water aND air and I means lots of it.

@trapmarley420 yeah honestly if i could do it again, I would have put the seeds in the rockwool, in the netpots with media, and dropped em in right away. I've got my drip pump on a timer, if I'm worried about over watering the first few days well... i can just dial that in.

After a week of germinating alone like that, they only got as tall as the first picture. The first week after in the system they took off like a bat out of hell- I probably could have saved some time.

Yea man no doubt lesson learned. Next time I will drop them in the system within a week of them sprouting no matter what. I feel like the minute they get that second set of leaves their ready to be dropped in system

Here's the first week of their life in the system- great node placement/growth so far!

Yea man looking good. Rockwool and hydroton rocks in rdwc is a pretty simple method as long as u use ph water . I will say careful in which company u get your rocks from. I went with a local hydro shop and man these hydroton rocks weren't as big as yours and left alot of residue in the buckets. Also do u have a water chiller? Are u using hydroguard or any beneficial bacteria? Careful not to get root rot bro it has plagued my life and still does but I'm beating it now......this is actually what I just harvested....candy kush autos from barneys
