Im in need of a Ph meter & Ive found one which measures all of the above and Ph but its costly...is it worth it?

Well i would say a good combo meter is worth it. E.C = Electrical conductivity, TDS = Total Dissolved Solids, PPM = parts per million, These are all pretty much the same thing. EC is what i would reccomend because you can convert into ppms simply. Look them up in the faq i am sure you will find useful imformation there.

Just get a tds meter and a ph meter. You can get a separate one or an all-in-one. I got separate ones for 70 bucks a piece or so.

I use the Milwaukee SM802 and love it. I paid like $140 shipped from ebay.
here are the specs..
This multitalented meter has one probe for pH, conductivity and TDS. The Milwaukee SM802 includes Automatic Temperature Compensation, 0 to 50 º C, calibration solution and replaceable probe (MA850). Accuracy is ± 0.2 for pH, and ±2% full scale for EC/TDS. Resolution for the SM802 is 0.10pH , 0.01 mS/cm EC, and 10 ppm TDS. Other benefits are: Calibration solutions included: M10007 (ph 7.01), M10032 (1382 ppm), M10031 (1413 mS/cm) Conversion Factor: 0.5 Battery Type/Battery Life: 1 x 9V alkaline/ 150 hours of use Dimensions: 185 x 82 x 45 mm Weight (with battery): 165 g

Go Milwaukee!

They are made in Romania.

These Pinpoint Meters are made in America,
and are supposed to be very accurate.

They cost about 10 bucks more than a Milwaukee.

Are those Milwaukee and Pinpoint meters battery operated? I used battery models for years, and once you switch to A/C power meters, you'll never go back. The batteries can't be trusted for long, and the meters accuracy too.

The PinPoint meter is 9volt.

This is from the American Marine PinPoint website:
PINPOINT pH Monitor has been designed as a continuous monitor.
However, if you wish to activate the unit ON and OFF as needed,
this will lengthen the battery life from months, to years.

:hump:
The Milwaukee meters come in 9v or 115/120v

I have the 9v milwaukee,
and I leave it on a lot,
mostly by mistake.

The battery last me for a few months.

I buy the cheap 9v from the dollar store for $3,
and keep a couple of spares.

I think the 120v milwaukee,
is the same price as the 9volt model.

I also have a nutradip trimeter,
and it sucks.

The tds probe failed after a month,
and the pH probe lasted about 4-5 months.
($50 for a new PinPoint pH probe, to replace the nutradip crap)

The nutradip tds probe,
is a factory replacement part.
