SOG is just a bunch of small plants crammed together, so your individual plant doesn't produce much, but the group of them will produce a pretty good amount for the space used. SCROG uses fewer plants, letting them sit longer in veg, then weaving them through a screen with 2 inch square openings that you can tie the branches to. Both produce a carpet of green, but some prefer the SCROG since you will use fewer plants, which helps 1) legal medical growers that have plant limits and 2) the rest of us that live in states that penalize per plant. Either way, you will be maximizing your grow area with either of these methods.

No. Sog grows can be any strain at the end of the day, but as growweedtoday states, there are strains which will be better suited than others.

Thanks guys. I'm banking on Jeopardy accepting my application and having a marijuana category with a daily double hidden on the $800 square the day I am on. I know it's a long shot, but I'm feeling lucky.

Homegrown summed it up well. Check the indoor forum, there are excellent examples of both on RIU.
