wow all I can say is next time pay your fucking rent.. Im sure you were more than 1 month behind as he cant get an eviction notice if your jsut a lil behind ( guessing ) . there not gonna change the locks if your just a lil bit behind like you say.. Im sure your leaving shit out of the storty like you were 4 mnths behind etc..

Here in Los Angeles you can get an eviction notice three days after not paying rent... Most of it is mentioned in the lease... Do you know what a lease is? Its when mommy and daddy have to make a promise to a landlord that they will pay the rent every month for however many months the lease mentions... If mommy and daddy dont make the payment, they can get an eviction notice, and if mommy and daddy dont leave the premises they can be taken to court and sued...

And to the OP of this thread... Talk to a fuckin' lawyer, your rights to privacy were violated, and whoever is managing the building over there needs to be fired and charged with whatever crimes they committed... Hold them to the same standard they would hold you.

Lucky SOB gets his dumb ass landlord to waltz right in... i can't wait for the day I can get a proper law suit going :lol:

why all the "mommy and daddy" bs? Im prolly old enough to be ur father. in my state you cant get evicted for just being 3 days late on rent.. not 100% sure but I think its 3 months late. then the tenant still has 30 or more days to leave..i havent lived w/ a parent for over 25 yrs..

btw i guess you just overlooked the post i made that clearly said "nm all my shit then lol.".. its not hard to miss.. just look up ^

where i live there is a growing (no pun intended) problem with rented properties being used as cannabis factories the LAW are sending landlords leaflets on how to spot a cannabis factory and they advise every landlord to visit the property regularly and if they cant get in to their property then to call the police. e.g if the tenant has changed the locks or does not answer the door.

my be your landlord as been round a few times and you not being there he thought you might have done a moonlight flip? you did say you owed some rent pay up on time and you will not get a landlord doing what he does!

I was fucking Furious, It took me 5 minutes of me standing there in my boxers telling him to get the fuck out before he left. He actually had a bag with new locks and at one point said he was going to change the locks now if I didnt give him my word I would pay rent. At this point I didnt even want to live here anymore, this was way to ridiculous.

i would not say 1 - 20 houses are used as a cannabis factrory? where did this program get that figure from? if 1-20 houses had cannabis growing in them the streets would be smelling of weed everyware you walked.:lol:

may be 1 in a 1000 has someone growing cannabis in it ,and more like 1 in 100,000 has a cannabis factory inside. i.e every room as plants growing in it.

yes its happening a lot i agree, most of the big busts are run by illegal immigrants from thailand who pay 6 months rent up front and they never seen going in or leaving the property. The small time home grower does not get busted so offten and if they are they usally get a caution or a small fine and a slap on the arse and told not to do it again.

If I was leaving shit out I would not have told you guys I owed him 415 from last month. We had a verbal agreement, I always pay up in full when I get back from working out of town. I do it quite a bit.

If I was 4 months behind or even 1 month behind any Landlord in their right mind would have evicted me a long time ago. The 2nd day of the month that you dont pay rent you will get evicted by most landlords.

Exactly. Unless stated in the Rental Contract the landlord cant enter at any time for any reason without permission from the tenant, 24 hours notice, or written notice from a dispute resolution officer.


If anyone is wondering, in BC, Canada you can evict the month rent is owed after 2 days. You serve a 10 day eviction notice, the tenant has 5 days to pay rent, if they dont pay they have to be out at the end of the 10 days Or the landlord can call a dispute resolution officer and get written permission to change the locks or put your stuff outside.

The landlord is never at any time allowed to make decisions on his own (like entering, physically evicting, or changing locks) He has to have written notice from a dispute resolution officer.

Yeah it would be nice to put him in his place, but I just finished moving and I really dont want to deal with the douchebag anymore. Its not worth my time.

are u in the US ? I have NEVER heard of anything like that . EVER. there are laws here that states you have to give at least 30 day notice.. And msot of the times you have to be at least 3 mnths behind. Im dead serious. 2 days late? thats bs.

bctrippin were you not paying your rent? if he woudnt leave without your word you would pay rent it sounds like you havent been paying him on time or at all. you should pay your rent on time, etc, so your landlord wont have reason to fuck with you. most landlords are pieces of shit so keep them away is best solution. which means pay them on time.. if he was ready to change the locks right then and there it sounds like you were doing something wrong. and you need to rethink getting a gun if you have already decided your not going to use it. before you get a gun you need to come to terms with the fact that it is a weapon designed to kill people and that if the time came that you needed to use it you will use it, responsibly that is. people dont like getting guns pointed at them. if someone broke into your house with a gun and you pointed a gun at them knowing you wont use it your fucked becasue you can bet that whoever broke into your house has one and will use it. or will try to take yours from you if he knows you wont shoot... be carefull but be prepared as well

I suggest shooting forst and asking questions later. I guess from reading this you dont live in the U.S. I know here atleast in New York. Your landlord must tell you that he or she is entering your rental. They can come whenever they want for whatever reason and stay as long as need be to finish the what they asked to do, but they must tell your b4. Yes they own it but New york state says as long as you pay rent there you are entitled to the same rights as if you were the owner. IE joe shmoo cant just walk in when whenever he or she wants nor can they just send people like contractors or cleaning people.

That being said we also have laws in place to protect the renter or homeowner from breakins. Basicly its liek this. if I am in bed at home alone and soemone that I do expect or has not told me is stopping by and they are in my home yelling for me or to see if anyone is home they are getting shot. Again I cant say how the laws work in your area. But I would be well within my rights to defend my appartment against tespassers and a landlord entering your home without telling you is tresspassing in new york.
