What to do for a dark area to dry?

Hello,
Just about harvest time, however no dark rooms, closets or tents to use. The growing area will be still used to finish flowering. Do I get paper bags? and carefully cut huge buds into smaller pieces?
Looked a little on here looking for help

Paper bag method is a well known way to " Dry " buds . First use a large ( brown ) grocery Bag. Don't use a " white Bag " like mcdonalds , they are bleached Place your buds ( either short stem or cut NUGS in bag , roll / fold closed like a lunch bag ( leaving space inside ) - 24 hours later give bag a gentle roll back and forth ( to mix buds around ) , leave closed another 24 hours. Roll contents and open check on dryness.

Keep room temps between 70 - 77 degrees and relative humidity around 45 to 56 % , this an average baseline. Adjust for your space. One tip : to judge dryness ( I dry enough til the stem is stiff brittle and folds cleanly at a sharp crease. ) if I dry up to the more common snap , I am risking possibly going to a too dry result. For me I would rather have a SLIGHT near snap than not having enough moisture in the bud.

I bottle the buds in jars and place a hygrometer in each , and store for 6 hours monitoring the hygrometer. Here is where you will know how much moisture is still in bud.

Example : my jars will show maybe 69% at checkup. This a good place to now tighten up the humidity. By Doing a moisture check this way , you can either remove from jar and dry a little bit if humidity too high or burp the jars to SLOWLY CREEP DOWN TO AROUND 60-62 %.

Here is the method :
Brown bag buds ( NUGS or STEMS )
Keep in dark , cool place ( anywhere ) under bed , closet , bottom of drawer , etc.
Roll contents gently 1-2 times daily ( to distribute buds )
Check on their condition daily. When you think they feel close to dry time to check moisture. To me it is always better to be on the wet side than in a too dry position and trying to BRING back moisture to bud.

Here I bottle buds " to sample moisture " by checking RH in jar after 6-8 hours.
If 70% or higher , remove and bag for 12-24 hours.
If 69% burp for 1-2 hours then reseal. Check in 12 hours , if RH is now going down you are now on the right path , even if you drop only 1 or 2 percent . This is how you can incrementally drop down to desired RH. Either keep at your own RH preference or can insert a Boveda 62% to float RH between 62 - 65 % ( sticky ). Or as some growers prefer around 55%.

Hello, How full do you fill the bags 25- 50%?
Lightly packed?

Fill up to 3 - 4 " deep . The paper bag actually breathes and allows simple rolling your buds around. It's a tried and true method . Do not compact them , keep them loose. You can load short " sticks " or cut buds. Roll the top like a lunch bag . Keep in dark , cool place.

Thank you, just didn't want to pack it too tight.
