I know I had thrips pretty bad but I've been treating them and winning. But now I have an issue I've never seen before. I'm doing General Hydroponics grow micro bloom, in coco fiber, outdoor hydro. I do it every year for 6 years w great results. But wtf is this?

Looks like 2 problems. How hot is it getting where you are at? Possible heat and direct sun? And is the leaf damage from the thrips or do you have some white fly action going on? Need to check for bugs. Might have been previous damage. Only you can tell us.

I am getting a lot of sun but the ones getting shade have it too. Yea the curled leaves are from the thrips.

There might be a tan powder too. I took clones and they got some tan powder with this look. Really unhealthy I tossed them out

Hemp russet mites are the WORST pest you can get. Sorry, my friend. Gonna be really hard to eradicate them outdoors.

Ps. I didn't mean that as a "too bad for you". I just cringe when I see that since I had them before and it took forever to destroy them. I ended up using extreme heat. Not sure how you could do that outdoors. Depending how big they are, maybe a very large black garbage bag tied over them. I'd think you could toss a hot shot pest strip in there too and gas them. Cut off all infected growth and burn it. Seriously. They make their way from the bottom up and will ruin you entire crop if left unchallenged.
Apparently sulphur works too, but they are so small it's hard to get proper contact with them.

Hemp russet mites are the hardest I agree.....in my indoor medical warehouse i had to spray every 3 days with something different to stop the reproduction period. Gotta get a good scope you can see them with 40x but 100x is better, and hit them every three days with a different spray, took at least 2 months of spraying every three days they are tough bastards. SNS 217C, Captin Jacks, Bayer Complete insect killer, azamax, azatrol, bomb them as well. They are under control and not a problem for me now but learned a ton and never letting my guard down like that again. Hope this helps. And if you have an atomizer to use while spraying thats better then a hand sprayer, its coverage on the plant with the fine mist. this is a good link too.

Hah! ya'll never had rust (bud) mites before, worst ever. Come in on the wings of moths and fliers(seen at 40x magnification, most likely broad mites brought in the grow this way also). 2 back to back applications of spinosad or avid(avids best) will cure your broad mites. A thorough cleaning with bleach or peroxide threw out your grow area would be good too. GL
