i have miracle grow that has a ratio of 6-5-5, i have know idea if thats good or bad, i was looking at fox farm trio but there quite expensive and i dunno if there natural, i want something that will make them grow big but not too extreme just some natural nutes, btw what is good for making strong root systems cuz my roots look a little lanky and id feel better if they filled out a bit

What you have will work, but it's not "natural" its a synthetic blend. When using it, just remember to wash out the salts in the soil every three to four weeks. If indoors, make sure you have ample wattage and your lights are as close as possible without causing leaf burn. I find I get the best success when I stick to one manufacture and only use their products for that particular grow. Roots will come if the conditions are right. I like to start off in one gallon smart pots. After three weeks the roots will start popping out of the bottom and I'll need to transplant into a bigger container.

Hard to say what the best nutrients are. Each year I like to try out different brands. This year I'm testing Xnutrients. Last year was testing Advanced Nutrients, Fox Farm, and Roots Organic on different plants. A few years ago I used Alaska Fish Emulsions and before that I used Kellogg's product. Out of all the grows I've had so far, I did the best with Alaska's fish emulsions (5-1-1) and their bloom formula (0-10-10). Dyna and Canna are on my list of nutrients that I'd like to eventually try. I'd even like to get my hands on some Jacks 20-20-20 All Purpose Fertilizer.

There is disagreement about what's the perfect NPK. I generally favor a 3-1-2 ratio during veg and a 1-2-2 formula during flower. But honestly, when I've done 5-5-5 or similar ratios, I still get great results, so who knows. The one thing I've notice beyond doubt is that lights matter and bigger containers support bigger plants.

Screw the rest, go fox farm if you want some good nutes. shell out the cash for the trio, it worth it. Hey it's not like your buying the 5 gal versions of the trio

I think Vindicated is on the right track regarding X Nutrients. They are very inexpensive and I've personally seen that line produce incredible results. Depending on what style of grow you are doing, many of the nutrient companies make sample packs of their stuff. Botanicare does a very good inexpensive one for starters. Shop around and search these forums for more info. Just don't use that miracle gro whatever you do.

uhh....you dont know if fox farm is natural? well its organic and you would know that if you did actually look into it. and miracle grow is far from natural or organic in any way and most people here will tell you to stay away from it. get yourself some fox farm grow big and tiger bloom at least. i would also get big bloom, sledgehammer, and you can get kangaroots from fox farm as well to help your root development
SAFE AND HAPPY GROWING! hope this helps!

You already have nutrients and despite what people say, miracle-grow in the hands of an experienced gardener will grow plants just as well as anything mentioned in this thread. Don't look to expensive plant foods to cut your learning curve. Buy a gardening book, learn about the essential elements, and ignore 90% of the stuff you read on cannabis forums.

first off not all the fox farm stuff is organic
good luck figuring out which is which last time i tried i got a headache

second it sounds like ur talking bout soil growing
mg is a bit more tolerant there but its still pretty harsh stuff
people will tel u that u can grow just fine with mg but what do they grow with? not mg
theres a reason 4 that
it sucks

can u grow a plant with it? sure u can
it might even look pretty good but it will smoke harsh
think about it u ever hear someone bragging about how they got some bud that was grown on mg? lol

great growers can grow decent weed on crappy nutes
good growers can grow great weed on good nutes
its like the saying - good, fast, cheap... pick two

ur smoke will depend on many things
its not just nutes
its not just skill
its not just anything
its everything together
