Hey RIU. Making the switch from cfl to t5 for veg. What models do you guys use? Looking for something that is easy to cool but with decent lumen output and longevity. :peace:

Do your research and find one that has quiet ballasts, rotating sockets instead of push-ons, and individual reflectors for each bulb. If it meets those requirements you should be golden. (Hydrofarm's unit is pretty good, of what I've seen.)

I am not gonna lie for longevity I cant answer but I put the cheap durolux up friday night and they pretty bright. they I belive are a touch brighter than my sun blaze t5 but my sun blaze is 4 years old has a new ballast and only use it fot 2 months a year. what I paid I would def buy more. If you will be moving them alot from different rooms here in there then they might be to cheaply made I was sorda down about strength but you can bend edges to direct light down so I won't complain. Cheap price light weight bright dual switches. Each switch controls 2 bulbs. Would be good for clones n such

Also, if you are looking for T5's on the cheap and don't care about annoying things like a little bit of buzz in the ballast or push-on sockets, go on ebay, there is a guy on there who sells lots of cheap T5's second hand. I got one from him. It works fine in practical terms, if you're trying to save money. The push-on sockets can be annoying if you need to change bulbs mid run without an easy way to move the plants out of the way.
