what kind of light is this?

got this for a steal,, what kind of light is this and how many sq. ft. will it llight properly?

what colour is the light when its on and warmed up? white/blue is metal halide mh and orange is high preasure sodium hps

It looks like a mh and the lighting per sq ft depends on watts is it a 250 400 or1000 watts

Looks like a 400w MH setup.

its a blueish /white... and how do i find out how many watts it is? is there someting on the bulb itself? if its 400, how many sq ft can i light properly?

also,, if i want to use hps bulbs,, do i need to buy a whole new balast or can i just buy a bulb and use the same setup i have?

I think my bulb says what wattage it is on the very end of the glass.

depends on your ballast rating but you can run a HPS or MH lamp from an HPS ballast if its capability wattage is higher than the bulb wattage.

example.
if you have a 1000w hps ballast you can run any HPS or MH bulb that does not exeed 1000w.

i looked at the bulb and it says 400w on it. and the stickers on the ballast says "selectable voltage" and 60 Hz, 120V, 3.80A not sure what those mean but thats all thats on there.. but if its a 400w mh,, how many sq. ft will this properly light? and when i start to flower, can i pull out the bulb and switch out to a 400w hps light?
