Since I started growing again say 3 years ago, I have always used LED's of various brands.

I have a 1.2m x 1.2m tent and my GPW ranges from 0.88 to 1.33GPW with approx 27w per square foot.

At even the lower GPW range it keeps my jars fully stocked and really I am not even trying to push for anymore GPW but I have been bitten by the LED bug, the potential is still massive.

Just sorting a DIY rig out with COB's and strips even though I am more than happy with all results with LED's. I am curious to see what is really possible.

Nice thanks for reading and posting the size of your setup :)

With my "grade school" experience level, battling conditions in harsh N. MI winter, learning through trial and error the feeding for my unknown gift strain, my GPW is nothing to impress.....
The first bush I flowered, was the gift mother, ended up just over 6 oz(lotsa popcorn)....For most of the "run" under a 217w EB strip panel, then about week 5ishI think, I added a second panel , made sorta a LED Teepee over her.... Badly underfed, poor PH, lotsa novice fumbles....
Despite the plants mediocre health, the buds were frosty and dense, remarkably sticky, just on the smallish side.....

Now that Ive got conditions, and plant health under control, and have learned the timing of, training for canopy, potting up, and so forth with the strain I'm working with, the latest specimens are showing much higher potential....Smaller, healthier plants now....

In about 20 days I get to clearcut the room, the last batch of the potbound beasts, that got WAY outta hand in the VEG area, basically limping them across the line....Working with a plant count, I got greedy with size, and its proven counterproductive for my setup....
600w divided over 3 2x2 sections, probably .75 GPW(ish)

From the looks of it my next harvest will be......
That's right, about a pound.

I haven’t harvested a full grow at one time yet but 1gpw is reachable.... and I’m not running the best COBS. I use 4 CXM22’s 3500k at 1.4amps in a closet a bit bigger than 3x2

1.0-1.5g/w is my range, and average 1.25 most of the time. I have tried different wattages:sqft combos, but seem to have a personal limit of 50-60grams/sqft no matter the wattage I throw at them as long as my general ppfd is 700µmols or more. I guess you could say ~36-45w/sqft seems my sweet spot. Same g/sq I used to get with 1000w hps hand 600w hps...but better g/w these days.

werent you experimenting with heavy defoliating? how'd that end up?

Efficacy of the lights has a big impact on g/W. I was using lights which produced 2umol/J while others run at 2.5umol/J. Obviously the g/w will be higher when you get 25% more light from the same amount of watts. That same 1.5g/W would become 1.9g/W without doing anything different.
Agree with this, I did a recent run w Bridgelux 3k running around 2.3 umol/j but a low ppfd less than 500 and still pushed nearly a gram a watt.
I also attribute this to lower K than normal, imho yields will be way better with high Ca and less than 10% K and no salt or iron, which loves to leach under acidic soil conditions....I suspect that some of the legitmate higher yields probably are pushing more than 10% K, which pumpkins prove is great for size but not edibility, therefore I also suspect that some of the best yields with smokability and dynamic terp profiles will come from soils high as hell in Ca, and a rise in K in veg, with a little reduction in the start of flower and a gradual increase till finish but still less than 10% overall....
This is coming from an organic grower with way too much K from om sources and salt, which is almost a mimic of fufu juice, High K and salts, and not enough Ca, no matter the light source.....just some thoughts on nutrition, nothing in stone, just some conversation.....

Also this was c99 from peak, beautiful plants done around 50 days....

Haven’t run full cycle with my 400 watt vero29 gen 7 3500. 3x3 little over 30 watts per square ft. Kept 16” above canopy the entire flip. F290C720-9E1C-4E8B-8ED7-2ED5EF52338E.jpeg
The one gorilla glue
These are on day 29 in soil 3 gal root pouch. Golden glue and one gorilla glue back center

Was running 315 lec was getting .8 to 1.3g per watt with it. Not sure if this will outdo the 315

Anywhere from 1.25 to 1.8 GPW. High end has always been hydro but I've got a nice harvest from coir/peat happening atm.

I think anyone with a 45-50% efficient lamp can do over 1.5 GPW with hydro or just under with soilless.
So I ended up with 1.25 GPW from the coir/peat grow. This is substantial to me because 1.25 has always been the best I could do in this same space and wattage with hydro using Vero18g5s at nominal. The Vero18Dg7s I used for this grow at nominal are around 44% efficient. 1.25 GPW using hydro under the gen 5 came out to around 3.4 GPPW and while this grow came in a bit under 3 grams per par watt I'm still pretty happy with it. 750 PPFD over hydro = 900 PPFD over soilless, more or less.

On the downside... while it's good stuff I could see that the leaves didn't have quite as much sugar on them. So hydro is still king in my case but I'm still fairly new at soilless and think I can do better. More testing is needed.
