What kind of fan do i need.(plz help a n00b)

i will have fans to circulate the air in each chamber.

the dryer box will have many many intakes. the door to it will be full of small holes.

not useless you pointed out the circulation in the dry room.

i would be afraid to make more passive intakes though.

i am super concerned about smell. I dont enjoy always having it around. And i like to be able to have guests in my living room.

i noticed in my room when i had fans mixing the intaken air with the air inside the room that i had a temp increase from1c to 4celicius!! when i turned off the fan that mixed the air, hot air went to top allowing cool air to be at lower parts thus keeping your plants cooler if i leave my thermometer at plant levels i get 25c during day if i put it on roof under vent lol 29+ if i put it on the floor of my room 22c!! also in a room with constant airflow it will be nearly impossible attaining the high humidity% u need unless the room your drawing air from has those humidity%!! for these reasons people use two fans!! because u mount the one to the cool tube only and the other to creating air circulation with a simple thermostat!! so you dont have constant airflow but rather airflow when needed this will help with temps and humidity and if you decide applying co2 will be a must!!

i have a 10cm inline exhaust fan and two 10cm intakes the one passive the other with a comp fan my room isnt air tight and i still get a negative air pressure in the room!!

yeah well a sealed room would be the ideal. but i dot think its necessary for my first grow.

a fan just for light and a fan for ventilation would be great too.

But that is too much for me right now, even just the nutes light and fan/filter are pushing my budget to the limit. but that is only temporary.

10cm = 6 inches? or4?

4!! u dont need a sealed room for negative pressure!! if you have negative pressure then no smell will escape!!

You don't need a sealed room to get negative pressure, but every leak decreases the efficiency of the fan, that's what I am trying to say. I mean, polke a hole in a vaccum hose, it will still suck, but not as efficiently, and you will be drawing air in from places you "don't" want to draw from... If you want a closed system, then design a closed system is all.

With this setup, to get good airflow from to to bottom, you will have to alternate where the vents are in between the rooms, here is a diagram...

as long as i get somebodies aproval that it will work with this system, (which i think i already have)

I didn't want to ask you how you were gonna do that cause it is a problem for sure....

Here is what I would do......

Put this type of thing on the veg side of the vent without any type of flap, just the angled thingy


Then put the same type of thing on the flower side of the same vent and drape it with some mylar or something light proof....
I don't know if it will work for sure, but it should...

yeah thats quite a prob!! unless he naturally ventilates the veg room without being connected to flower!! veg plants dont smell!! ive tried many light traps none works 100% and since he will have constant airflow the light traps will always be open and the mylar will be blown open too so imho they will serve no use!! i think now best thing is have natural vent in veg with passive intake and a comp fan and deal with flower room separately!! also its very hard to make a 100% light proof cab with 100% airtight chambers and 100% silent!! i always say this what is stealth for you because its impossible to achieve 100% stealth unless u spend alot of money and unless ur a pro builder!!

Another option really is to use ducting OUTSIDE of the box to transfer air from one chamber to the next. BUt agin, you will lose a ton of the efficieny from the fan....
Honestly bro, I would just make 3 seperate chambers, with ducting coming from each of them, all attached to the vent fan... Here, like this.... Just make the intake vent really small in the bud box, a bit bigger in the veg box, and the biggest in the flower box... Just base you vent size proportionate to the box size

Pong - in my opinion, if this is going to be a project that is going to take some time to complete, I think it seems that most of the advice here is 2 fans is probably your best bet. Since your veg room will be smaller, you can purchase a smaller-cheaper fan. I have some plants in veg, one is like 75 days old, and it's not THAT bad. I could get away with lighting a gingerbread candle or something n you'd never know. Use cheaper pots to grow in, smoke a few less cigarettes, have a few less cans of soda, and save that money. You could easily afford a small veg exhaust fan bro! GOOD LUCK man!! I hope we are helping you out here!

I disagree. I've grown plenty of plants that smell almost as strong in veg as they do in flower.

yeah but even the ones that smell smell so little that you can easily cover the smell plus i dont think hes planning of having so many plants

Depending on the strain, some plants can smell almost as much in veg as they do in flower (i feel like i'm repeating myself here). Even a couple of plants can be enough to make an entire house smell. I know this from personal experience, as well as the experience of others.

If stealth is a real concern, this should be talken into account, unless you know the strain you are growing is not going to cause you problems. You can attempt to mask the smell, but a weed growing smell is very distinctive, once you have a nose for it.

true hehe!! but there are many strains that dont stink in veg as well as the ones that do!!
