What is flushing ?

I used an organic sea weed based remedy for nutrients.

Basically flushing is just dousing them in water ?
Flushing soil is dumb, flushing organic soil is really dumb.

Buds do not store fertilizer.
Flushing stresses plants.

The only reason to flush is a last resort when you have over fed.

There are a whole bunch of flushing agents out on the market. Most nutrient brands sell one. They all work pretty much the same.
Yep, they stress your plants because of over watering and washing away vital nutrients the plant needs to survive.

I've flushed with straight water, and the agents. I also haven't flushed before. Depending on how long you flush there is definitely a difference in smoke and flavor.
I disagree. I flushed coco and then stopped. I got better buds and less stress when I didn't flush.
My unflushed weed tasted great, smelled great and burned to a white ash.

How do you explain that?

Usually when I'm not using an agent I flush for 1 week minimum, if I'm using a companies product to speed up the process I follow whatever their schedule says. No problems to this day with either method. Definitely recommend it if you want to/can put in the extra time. It sucks putting all your time and effort in to some plants just to have the final product harsh and chemy.
That is a lie.
'Harsh and chemy' is most likely the result of poor or no curing.

So please, please please please, flush your plants with atleast straight water for atleast a week. Your lungs and anyone else who smokes it will thank you.
That is a lie.
Buds do not store fertilizer.

Those are all a rip off.
They are water with a tiny bit of sugars.
You are paying for a really, really weak fertilizer.

Racerboy, its cute of you to say that.
(spreads buttcheek)

pfffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffttttttttttttttt

I've picked lettuce leaves straight from plants that weren't flushed. Eaten my fair share of fruits and vegetables that I've grown myself or purchased from stores. Some flushed, some not. There is a difference in taste. If you don't notice it try a side by side. If you still don't notice it quit being a jackass because you don't want to wait a few extra days.
You are full of shit.

I am a farmer, how do you suggest I flush thousands of acres?
lol

It has an effect on the flavor because while it is growing, it is taking nutrients up in its roots and putting them to use in different areas of the plant.
Nutes? No.
Buds do not store fertilizer. You would think that you could find something that backs up that terrible opinion.

There are excesses of these chemicals in your plant before you harvest.
So you over feed and then flush?
What chemicals are going in my plant?
How do they get in my buds?

If you don't flush then those excess chemicals are still in your plant. They REMAIN IN YOUR PLANT and don't disappear with the magical fairy unicorn that makes your bud oh so special and flavorful.

That magical fairy unicorn must remove those chemicals from my plants, sorry to hear about yours.
I put my weed up against any flushed weed.

If you could somehow share your magical remedy to this issue I'd love to see it.
Try reality.

For everyone else in the world, we need to flush the excess fertilizers from our plants to give them their most natural and beautiful flavor.
Stop lying and do a side by side on your own, I have.
There is no way you could tell the difference between buds I flushed and didn't flush.

Find me studies that say you have to cure your bud, or that you have to dry your bud. The studies you want us to find don't exist because who is going to do them? No one. The only studies being done on marijuana in a lab with real equipment are for things like thc content, increasing potency, various effects, cbds. The studies don't exist not because it is bs, but because no one has done it yet. No one has the time money and equipment that cares about doing a study on it. It is not relevant. Find me a study that says flushing does nothing. OH WAIT THERE ISN'T ONE.

Find me a study that backs up your ridiculous opinion.
Oh wait, there isn't one.

Have you found anything that says that buds store fertilizer?
You won't.

And don't worry, if you show me one. I'll apologize and admit I'm wrong. Otherwise I'm going to keep on believing what I want to believe and you can believe what you want to believe. I'll have my wonderfully smooth flavorful smokes, and you can choke on yours.
Mine weed is way better than yours. I do not stress my plants at a critical time of bud development.
Good luck with that hot mess.

Then neither of us should have bothered responding to this thread. If it did nothing then you'd be right and I wouldn't be saying otherwise. Or the placebo effect is a lot more powerful than I give it credit for, and I will continue to enjoy my enhanced flavor from flushing.
How do you know it is enhanced?
For all you know it is worse.

When one flush you are cleaning the plants "veins" not cleaning the nutrients out, you are just washing yhr nutrients out of the dirt because the plant has all ready taken all the nutrients it can take..Recommend that one flushs 3x's the container size in a 2 week period, but watering every other day for 8 days will work

how does dumping water through a medium like soil have a single effect on the taste of the buds??

also, what makes cannabis so special, it's the only plant on god's green earth that people think needs to be flushed?? why don't my unflushed tomatoes, cucumbers, apples, oranges, pretty much every fruit and veggy i eat, taste chemmy, as you put it??
For a medium like soil, not so much but for a product like Rockwool...a must. Medium is what determines how much too flush. No its no the only plant, gotta open up that mind my friend! All greenhouses that use a hydro system of some type, like 60% of all our tomatoes produced in north America, are fully flushed and washed before harvest. There are fly by night hot houses that skip these steps and give everyone a bad name. If you can tell that tomato came from a greenhouse, then it was from a crappy grower with bad practises. JAS

If I remember correctly, it is less than 50%, but I can not find anything about flushing in hothouses.

Tomatoes do not necessarily finish at the same time.
Flushing would hurt the remaining tomatoes.
